The Cabin sits on six acres with views of the pretty Catskill forest on all sides. Excellent Hiking, Fly Fishing, Canoeing as well as some good restaurants are close-by. Our cabin is perfect for one or two couples looking to escape the city, relax and retreat in nature.
While there are many things to do, sitting on the Deck with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, and a good book or some good company are by far the best things that happen here.
The cabin sits high in the mountains surrounded by trees on all sides so you will truly feel 'away from it all'. And so, while there is good cell coverage with ATT (and somewhat less so with Verizon), there is no WiFi here. Bring your friends, your dogs, take along a book or watch a movie, build a fire, cook something great on the grill, eat outside under the stars, dance, play music... talk to each other!
**There are open railings around the deck as you can see in the photos. This may be an issue for small children, please contact me with questions**

My wife and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary with a long (four-night) weekend at the cabin. Another couple joined us for a fun, relaxing time. The cabin is rustic and casual, situated on the most quiet and peaceful property on which I have ever stayed. We drank coffee on the huge deck every morning, just relaxing in the early morning sunshine, while watching the hummingbirds at one of the bird feeders. Having a gas grill available made it easy to cook and enjoy a few meals outdoors. If you plan to cook at the cabin and serve more than two people bring an extra table and chairs, since the cabin has only two dining chairs and a small table. We brought a folding table and two extra chairs, so it was never an issue. The cabin is a bit out of the way, and is accessed by traveling on a private, gravel road, but that is what made it so special and enjoyable. You feel like you are "off-the-grid". If you need anything, Alex is easy to work with and quick to respond. Restaurants and entertainment are located in nearby towns all between 20-60 minutes away. I recommend this rental if you are looking for a simple, peaceful getaway (there is no glam here). It is a great way to disconnect from the stresses of life, and reconnect with yourself, your partner and the simplicities of nature.

Great cabin for a couple's getaway!
My wife and I spent the weekend at this cabin with another couple and our dogs, and we absolutely loved it! The grounds are very well kept and the cabin is a great cozy space. The property was very secluded and private, but not too far from Roscoe, which is a great little town. The cabin is also a short drive from good hiking trails and state parks. Alex was a great host, who was very responsive and accommodating. I would definitely rent this property again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet weekend in the woods!
