The Bonney Grey is over 100 years old and as such has historic architectural details such as older wood floors and narrow steep staircases. Unfortunately our home is not suited for those with mobility challenges. Also please do not leave children unattended around the stairs as we are not responsible for injuries. The Bonney Grey, while boasting updated modern conveniences, is still an older home (over 125 years old!). Please respect the irreplaceable historic details and do not tape anything on the ceiling. Also, no glitter, confetti or silly string allowed. Also, please do not flush anything except toilet paper as the pipes are older than the home! Thank you!

This is a great location if you have a larger group. The house is an older house which lends to it's uniqueness. Which we loved. The home has plenty of options for sleeping. The back decks are wonderful and have a great few of the Mississippi. The kitchen is well laid out and functional. Grafton is a very busy small town. So there is some noise to contend with, but as long as that doesn't bother you, this place is well worth it. It is reasonably close to St. Louis for day trips and you can definitely visit the surrounding communities with ease. We used this as a location for our graduating senior from Principia College, just up the river road in Elsah, which was perfect for us. Check out was a breeze. Thanks to the host for making it available! I would re-rent without hesitation.
Bottom burner on stove did not work.Paint is pealing off kitchen cabinets. Small children were picking at it. One bath towel in middle floor bathroom. Nothing to step out on on. Trash cans are at a very inconvenient location especially when it’s raining.
Stairs, stairs and more stairs! I did not see this info in the listing, so I wanted to share. First floor, 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. 2nd floor, kitchen, living room, dining room, 1 bedroom and bathroom. 3rd floor, large “dormer” bedroom (watch your head) with 2 beds and bathroom. All of the stairs are steep and narrow! The location is neat with the Mississippi River basically in the back yard. It was nice to sit on the back deck and watch the barges & boats. Local bar on one side of the house and a cute coffee shop on the other side. It was a pretty good walk to most of the bars and restaurants. I had several questions before and during the stay. The host responded about 24 hours after. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. We could’ve used a few more towels but we made do. I would stay here again.
