I couldn’t have been more happy with our stay at this wonderful house. It is an architectural joy. I can’t believe this has been in Cape Meares all these years I have been going there and I have never even seen it. This house has a wonderful kitchen (I love to cook and was very impressed), a great layout, room for 5 adults(!). Its wonderfully secluded in beautiful costal forest. Really… its a treasure. Two of my friends on our stay are architects and they absolutely loved everything about this house. I’m so glad I found it. We will be staying there again.

Tree House

This is probably the coolest place we have ever stayed. It feels like you really are nestled within the trees with windows everywhere. Just 5 blocks from the beach and not far from Tillamook, this is definitely 5 star!

Pleasant views and extremely quiet, near both a beautiful forest and coastline.

Pleasant views and extremely quiet! The home had everything we needed for our trip. Given that the house was settled within a beautiful forest, waking up and being able to see the outdoors and hear the birds chirping was a huge plus. Walking to the coastline was nice too - easy access. No traffic. Good neighbors. Such a great stay!

Wonderful home, horrible beds

The property is absolutely gorgeous, but seriously- the beds were painful. I almost slept on the couch instead.

Views of the woods and tree top escape

Our family enjoyed our stay at this modern home tucked in the woods. We enjoyed the views from every window out into the woods. Sitting on the deck in the morning gave us the feeling of being in the tree tops. The steam shower was amazing. The one negative was the comfort of the double bed in the main bedroom. It was lumpy and felt "U" shaped. Ended up sleeping on the couch instead.

Beautiful house in the trees

The design and architechture of the house is just beautiful and unique. We loved being in the woods just a few blocks from the ocean and using the steam shower with the windows to the trees. The house is nicely equipped with kitchen supplies, games, bath towels, games, etc. A few things that would be nice to have would have been more than 3 wine glasses and some beach towels and chairs to use while staying in the home. I would hesitate to book another home with Vacasa. I did have occassion to reach out to them, once waiting 3 weeks for them to get back to me after me emailing several times. It concerns me that in an emergency or real issue with a rental, it would not be addressed in a timely manner.

Coleman stay

Though the home is lovely we felt it was absolutely not worth it for the price, we choose coleman location specifically for bird viewing in the loft but you are not allowed to access the loft. You cannot touch the thermostat that are set at 66° degrees and fireplace is for emergency use only. There are a lot of windows with no curtains even in the bathroom and there are neighbors close by. Also we where a bit disappointed that there was no coffee in the morning, there was coffee grinders filters and a machine but no coffee. The main bed is also just small and uncomfortable for two people. with all of the unexpected restrictions on amenities and use of space we would not book again. We do appreciate you letting us use the space, it just isnt what we expected for the price.

Beautiful....but

As other reviewers have indicated the location is lovely - it was fantastic to wake up and see the trees all around. The kitchen was well equipped and there were plenty of dishes. The challenges were that the first night we were fairly cold. The listing says that if you want it warmer, use a space heater, but it didn't say that you should bring your own space heater. The extra blankets all seemed to be wool, and I'm allergic to wool. The next night was warmer inside. I'm not sure the reason, but it was frustrating to not be able to control the temperature at all (set to 66 and not to be adjusted). Also the glass/wood barn doors are lovely, but we were asked to keep them closed, and they require more effort than a normal door. So it felt like a bit of work to travel from the bedroom to the living area. Third, and this is minor, I really prefer if there is notice that we shouldn't wear shoes in the house before arriving so I can bring some indoor shoes with me. Not everyone has the ability to go shoeless. And lastly, I think we have decided not to book with Vacasa in the future - it is much nicer to have a real person who knows the house. We ended up leaving early because we decided it would be more comfortable at home. But....there are lots of folks for whom these things would not be problems. I just wish I had known before booking.

Great home, terrible management

I can't say enough about the attributes of this home. Its architecture and design are incredible...so much so that it was a struggle to leave it to go to the beach. It was calm and peaceful, and perfectly situated as a private getaway. We truly felt immersed in the local forest. And yet, the beach was a quick 5-minute walk away. The kitchen was also the most well-stocked of any rental I have ever visited. It had enough pots, pans, and accessories to suit all of our cooking and baking needs. Furthermore, the house actually lost power within minutes of our arrival due to a downed power line...the house, however, is equipped with a backup generator which made the wait for power restoration MUCH more bearable. Our only gripe is with the Vacasa management. Upon arrival, we noticed that the shower drain was clogged and that the shower started filling up immediately. There was a sign warning guests that the drain should be cleared if the shower begins to fill up. Clearly Vacasa is aware of the problem, and so I was shocked that the drain was not cleared prior to our arrival. It was a bit frustrating to spend the first 10 minutes of our vacation cleaning out hair from a shower drain. We also contacted Vacasa as soon as we noticed the power outage (the generator did not power the kitchen appliances, and so we were unable to cook). While the agent was nice, she simply filled out a maintenance ticket, and never contacted us again. We had to do a little legwork to contact the repairman directly in order to get status updates. To his credit, the repairman (Tom) showed incredible dedication to providing customer service. He was helpful and sympathetic, and really made me feel good about our stay. I just wish that we had received similar treatment from Vacasa directly. Lastly, we unfortunately left a couple of items in the house after our departure. I contacted Vacasa 2 hours later, but the agent simply filled out a “ticket.” She told me that I would be contacted "soon" with shipping information. After 3 days of waiting, I called Vacasa again. I spoke with new agent, who resubmitted the "ticket" and said that I would definitely hear back with them within 1-2 days...that was over a week ago, and I have yet to hear anything from Vacasa. I feel like I have to follow-up with Vacasa to get anything accomplished, and it’s honestly hard to find the time and energy to do that so often.
