Power/Internet Outages: Costa Rica experiences occasional power and/or internet outages, especially during heavy rain or strong winds. These are usually temporary but something to be aware of.
Wildlife & Nature: The property is surrounded by lush nature, contributing to Costa Rica’s incredible biodiversity. Despite regular fumigation, it is possible to encounter insects or wildlife both outside and inside the home.
Security: We have two EXTERIOR motion-activated cameras recording audio and video: one covers the front entrance and the other covers the front area by the garage. None are monitoring guest common areas.
No Dedicated EV Charger: While the property does not have a dedicated EV charger, some electric vehicles can use a standard outlet for trickle or slow charging. This option can be helpful for guests who want to top up during their stay.
Guest Expectations and Communication:
We want your stay to go smoothly, and we handle questions and issues as efficiently as possible. We’re available during reasonable daytime hours, generally between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. We’re not a 24/7 concierge, so non-urgent messages sent outside those hours will be answered the next day. If there’s a true emergency involving water, power, or safety, reach out right away.
For anything that affects maintenance or comfort, let us know as soon as you notice it. We’ll make a reasonable effort to address the issue, but response times can depend on the availability of maintenance staff or service providers. Some matters are also outside our control, such as temporary outages with electricity, Wi-Fi, water service, or amenities managed by outside parties.
Pool and Landscaping Team:
The pool and landscaping crew come by a few times a week. They have their own separate entrance and they work efficiently and quietly, doing their best to stay out of your way. Just a heads-up so you’re not caught off guard if you see them around.
Allowed Guests:
Only the number of guests listed in the booking are allowed on the property - no extra or unregistered guests at any time.
Cooling:
✔ Turn off the AC when you leave.
✔ Keep doors and windows closed while it’s running.
✔ Use ceiling fans to boost cooling.
Strict No Smoking Policy:
Absolutely no smoking or vaping inside the property - if smoke or odor is detected indoors, a cleaning and deodorizing fee of $500 will apply.
Rinse Off Sand Before Entering the House or Pool:
Please rinse off any sand before coming inside or getting into the pool. You can use the hose by the front entrance or the outdoor shower by the pool. Keeping sand off the floors, furniture, and out of the pool helps protect everything and keeps the space clean and comfortable for everyone.
Security & Safety:
Keep doors and windows locked when you leave. Please don’t disable cameras or security features (these protect you too).
Checkout and Entry Policy:
Checkout is at 11:00 AM and our cleaners or management arrive right at that time. They will always knock first, but if you’re still inside a few minutes past 11:00 AM, they will enter and start their work so they can stay on schedule. Thanks for heading out on time and helping the turnover run smoothly.
Furniture Movement:
For the safety and comfort of all guests, please do not move any furniture during your stay, including beds and sofas. Keeping furniture in its designated place helps prevent accidents and keeps the property in excellent condition for everyone.
