About this property

Welcome to our Strawbale home- With no hidden cleaning fees or a chore list.

Welcome to our Strawbale Casita. We want to make this experience the best for you so we removed all cleaning fees and chore lists. Just come and enjoy.
My husband and I built this home. It is a 600 square ft casita that is very comfortable and has everything you need. We occasionally provide a blowup Jacuzzi for your pleasure and relaxation (Let us know if you are interested). We are just south of Downtown Phoenix, but walking or biking distance from it. Our home has a very constant temperature due to the fact that the walls are about 20 inches thick. We are about 6-10 blocks from the light rail, sports venues, the convention center, theater, bars, and restaurants. We live in another Strawbale next door and can share info about the area (we are natives) but we will also give you all the privacy you need. We think you will really enjoy this unique experience. Come and see for yourselves. We are building another strawbale home right behind these which is a Hacienda with a courtyard. We are in the construction stage and will be happy to give you a tour. An amazing stay

The straw bale house is amazing. The hosts are absolutely lovely and Boo and Lucy (the cat and dog) are very welcoming as well. The area is very interesting and we would love to visit again.

What a lovely setting. Flowers, patio, lots of outdoor seating. Inside was modern and had everything we needed. Even supplied with breakfast foods and a bottle of wine to welcome us. We would stay here again if we came this way in the future

We were in for a conference and enjoyed our stay at Susan's Casita! Her and her husband have created such a beautiful space for so many to experience. I highly recommend others to stay here. You will enjoy chatting with Susan. It is close enough to walk to downtown or take am adventure in a WayMo!

Heaven on Earth

This place is a must. The Hosts are beyond helpful and kind. The Casita itself is charming and cozy but the people themselves make the experience feel like home. Everything exceeded any expectation i had for my 20yr old daughter and I to have a nice, convenient place to stay so we could visit colleges and attend a local concert at Chase stadium. Golden host!

Susan was the best VRBO host I have encountered! I’ve been renting over 4 years with the app and she is the premier host! So sweet and genuine! We are relocating to Phoenix and she gave us lots of good resources, including herself! I will definitely rent her home again, even if it’s just to relax for a night!

Perfect, charming little getaway

My wife and I took a super quick trip to Phoenix from Alaska to see Bruce Springsteen and I wish we had longer in this sweet little home. We were greeted by prince Boo at the gate as soon as we arrived and one of our favorite parts of this trip was relaxing with Boo in the sun in the front lawn chairs. The home was spotless, cozy, quirky and equipped with everything we needed. The hosts were amazing, friendly and communicative. We felt right at home here and were sad to leave! Thanks so much for everything and give Boo some pets from us.

The cutest ever in a most unassuming neighborhood!!! I love the strawbale concept, and sustainabiluty. Sue and sil are amazing humans, and fantastic hosts. The proximty to the downtown is a great feature, and at their insistance, traveled in. Waymo! Most fun. I am already making plans to visit again!

Quirky and Cute

We had a lovely time with our first stay in a strawbale home- everything true to the posting. Easy checkin and easy check out. Excellent location for access to downtown and dining. The only downside is very obvious and constant air noise from the airport close by. Once I used air plugs, I was able to sleep past 6:30.

This is such an adorable place. Hosts were so generous and available. They even had a bottle of wine when I arrived. It was a house made of straw! Very comfortable bed. Location was close to what I needed.

A fantastic (and unique) place to stay!

Property was clean and comfortable. The hosts (who live next door) were friendly and never intrusive. Plenty of restaurants, bars and entertainment venues within walking distance. Highly recommended!
