Very helpful host!

Mori goes above and beyond to communicate and help travelers. He has translated all important materials into English and will help you with directions and recommendations for restaurants and great places to visit. If you need anything, he will help you find it. The place is small but perfectly stocked with all you need and more. Nishioji Station is only one stop away from Kyoto and very quiet. You can take a bus to see Kinkakuji and many nearby gardens. Pay close attention to the second map that Mori sends you because it can be a little tricky to find the house the first time. There's a new Seria 100 yen store near the station that has so many cool gifts to bring home. I highly recommend taking a day-trip to Nara and walking the Philosopher's Path to Ginkakuji.
