The hosts were extremely gracious and responsive to any and all of our communications. Check in was straight forward and easy and we absolutely loved the personal welcome displayed on their TV upon our arrival. It's definitely not the Taj Mahal, but the location and neighborhood were perfect as we were in visiting nearby family and we were also traveling with our dog, who loved the fenced in backyard and the bounty of bunnies! It's an older home and the bed, while super creaky, was actually comfortable. They truly bent over backwards to make their home pet friendly between the securely fenced in yard, dog bowls and all the doggo-related decor. The biggest drawback was the pungent smell of urine eminating from the basement, where previous furry guests apparently chose over using the backyard. We did bring that up with the hosts along with a suggestion to remedy the odor and they were very receptive. They do have a gate to prevent future 'accidents'. Hopefully, they can remedy and neutralize the odor. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

We did enjoy our stay, our 2nd 3-day stay within a few weeks, but there were some caveats. They knocked it out of the park for the dogs, with the fenced in back yard, dog bowls, extra vittles if we ran short and all the doggy-centric wall décor and available reading material. But we humans like a clean and safe environment too. I don't like to leave negative reviews, and everything I'm stating, I shared with the host via email. He appeared receptive, so hopefully he will make some tweaks and all will be well for future guests. While the bed itself is actually pretty comfortable, the frame is scary. It squeaks so much that you wake up every time you or your bedmate roll over, and from looking underneath, the frame itself is on borrowed time before its extremely splayed legs eventually give out. For the bathroom, a simple bathmat to cushion the landing when trying to dismount from the super high-rise shower/tub would be a safety feature. The futon couch-I put covers down to minimize the dog hair and when I went to wipe the few hairs that our pup did leave behind before we left after our first visit, my damp paper towels came back totally brown, so during our 2nd visit, I covered the couch more for our benefit. And finally, the basement. It was pungent after our first visit (pet urine) and still quite pungent at the time of our 2nd. I mentioned that to the host previously. The place gets an ok, but it really could be great with just a wee bit more effort and minimal expense.
