Very clean, spacious home. Large deck, yard and driveway. Had everything we needed. Easy water access. We were able to pull right up to the dock and tie up. The host communicated everything very clearly so check in and check out process was a breeze. This would be a perfect place for families to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Leah Prahl
Hello from the owners! We are Leah and Jamie. Between my career as a real estate broker in Sibley County, Jamie’s work as a landlord, and raising our four kids (ages 8–15), life is busy—and this cabin is our ultimate escape.
Our love affair with Lake Alexander began during COVID when my parents bought a property here. We fell so hard for the lake that we knew if the right place presented itself, we were ready.
With four active kids, this location has been an absolute lifesaver. On cooler days or quiet mornings before we’re ready to hit the beach, having the park right across the street has saved us more times than we can count! Our kids love taking long bike rides along the path (always keeping their eyes peeled for a rare bear sighting!), while our older two love heading out on long kayak rides to see if they can reel in a legendary Lake Alexander muskie.
On hot summer days, you’ll usually find us enjoying the lake from our shore, or anchored at the Soldiers Island sandbar to cool off after a morning of fishing. Jamie and the kids also love that the fabulous Pine Ridge Golf Course is just minutes away—it has actually inspired our non-golfing family to pick up a brand new hobby!
We decided to host because it allows us to open the door for other families to create the same unforgettable "Up North" memories that we cherish so much. We’ve put a lot of heart into making this cabin a comfortable, stress-free getaway, and we can't wait to share our slice of paradise with you!
Why they chose this property
When we were looking for a property on Lake Alexander, we didn't just fall in love with the lake—we fell in love with this specific neighborhood. It offers a unique combination of quiet waterfront privacy and incredibly convenient community amenities that you rarely find at a cabin.
The scene here is the perfect picture of small-town Minnesota lake life. Because our property sits on a spacious, wooded acre inside the bay, our waterfront feels like a private, peaceful sanctuary where the water is calm and protected from the heavy lake winds.
But what we enjoy most about this neighborhood is how alive and active it is just steps from our front door. Being situated directly on the local bike and walking path gives us instant access to the outdoors. Just across the street is the heart of the Scandia Valley community—the fire hall, the library, and a fantastic park. On any given day, you’ll see neighbors playing pickleball, kids on the playground, or families starting a pickup game on the baseball field.
It truly offers the best of both worlds: we can spend a completely secluded morning fishing or kayaking in the bay, and by afternoon, the kids can walk across the street to play tennis or basketball. It’s a welcoming, and vibrant neighborhood that makes vacationing with a family effortless.
