This was exactly what my husband and I needed. A peaceful week in total seclusion. The cabin is fantastic! We didn’t need a thing other than groceries. The kitchen was well stocked with all necessary appliances. The den had a large screen TV, a huge screened in back porch where we could relax and listen to the Corinthian Bell wind chimes and reflect on our happiness. But my favorite room was the master bathroom .. it was glass from ceiling to floor, open blinds, large shower and a claw-footed tub. The best feature? Heated tile floors . We rode the golf cart all over the preserve to find many treasures..a bunk house and a tree house with a queen sized bed! Also on the property is a large stocked trout pond which our fur babies enjoyed swimming daily as we were trying to fish. We absolutely fell in love with Frog Call! I recommend it highly and dealing with the owners was easy and just a text or phone call away.
Great stay for a quick getaway to the mountains. The kids and our dog loved feeding the fish in the pond and wandering around the property. Jimmie was extremely helpful and provided tons of information about to help make it a smooth and memorable trip.
Amazing property. So much to explore right there on the grounds. It truly feels like you are deep in the forest, miles away from everything, but really you are only just minutes from town.
Frog Call was a delightful home away from home on our recent trip to Dahlonega! The cabin was spacious and accommodating, and the screened porch was a perfect place for coffee and most of our meals. We enjoyed feeding the fish in the picturesque pond, walking on the trails to the treehouse and bunkhouse, and visiting the wineries, all of which were an easy 10-20 minute drive away. Jimmie was invaluable and recommended restaurants we thoroughly enjoyed, including Wolf Mountain and our favorite, Montaluce.
Bucket list level properties are few and far between but Frog call easily qualifies and then some. The house is quirky and unique. The property itself was WAY more than we expected with the beautiful views, private lake stocked with trout, fire pit, bunk house, tree house, extensive screened back porch, and more. This is less a rental and more a home. Falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the waterfall, birds, and the many wind chimes was absolutely magical. The only thing better than the property itself is the host. Jimmie went far above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Book this place! Your soul will thank you.
This is another return visit for us to Frog Call. We had a great time. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place to unwind. We will definitely book again.
We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin is full of small details to have all the comforts of home and the hosts are incredibly thoughtful and welcoming. The best part is that the property is so expansive that my two large breed dogs were able to wander off leash safely for our entire stay. Seriously, it was like doggy Disneyland for them. We will definitely be back.
Frog Call was beyond our expectations and possibly our favorite rental ever. The property itself has so much to offer and the owners are so kind and generous with info and input about the surrounding area. Gorgeous views, nature like you rarely get to enjoy it, nearby tubing and kayaking, panning for gold and gems, mine tours and historic, quaintlovely downtown area. We came to swim with otters at the North Georgia Safari Park. We got to enjoy that amazing experience and so much more to make a memorable trip for our daughter's birthday which has us longing to return to Dahlonega and especially to Frog Call!
Enjoyed getting away from the crowds and reconnecting to nature at its best. It feels like you are in your own world, but Starbucks is only 6 miles away. Great communication. Felt like we took a step back in time. Local restaurant reccomendations were superb.
Our family had a wonderful time at Frogcall. The property is beautiful and calm. Our little girl and dog had so much fun running around the meadow and trails.
The house is also well stocked with books and games for all ages.
We look forward to visiting Frogcall again soon.
This was our 3rd trip to Frog Call, and it was wonderful as always! We love the beautiful property - the fish pond, the field, the woods with hiking trails and creeks. It is perfection! The cabin is very cozy too, with an incredible Master Bath! Our dog and children had a blast as well.
Last away trip with family before move
Enjoyed the quiet, adventures around and in the creek, fishing, relaxing.
Owner was always available and above average helpful
What an amazing property! The seclusion and peacefulness were much appreciated. Adults, kids and dogs loved exploring the creeks and property. The additional bunk house and tree house were a wonderful touch. Mrs. Jimmie was very welcoming and thoughtful. We loved to swim in the pond in the afternoons. The family all want to come back next year!
This is a special place that words simply can’t describe. This was our second visit and the first with the kids. It was amazing to share this place with them and watch as they explored and learned more about themselves on adventures around the property. We plan on returning again and again.
The Frog Call might be our favorite VRBO that we've ever stayed at! This place is so beautiful and peaceful, I recommend you stop reading now and book it before someone else does. We had so much fun swimming in the lake with our elderly pup and exploring the property. The treehouse is awesome. Oh and the master bed was so comfortable. Thank you Jimmie for sharing your wonderful cabin with the rest of us. We are already planning our trip back!
We were looking for a peaceful getaway out of the hustle of the city. This was perfect. A private pond, lots of land for the dogs to run around and perfect for decompressing. Jimmie was always available if we needed her, and was so kind. We have rented from many properties (some good, some not so much) but we will be back to this one. Thank you for the lovely stay!!
We truly enjoyed our stay! The house is very conveniently located near Dahlonega and a short drive from the nearby vineyards. We enjoyed the privacy this property offers, the walking trails, creek and small stocked fish pond. It was still a bit warm early in our stay so we didn’t have a chance to stay in the bunk house or tree house, but the offer a great chance to glamp out in the woods. The porch is large and we spent a lot of time relaxing out there while enjoying the fresh air. The owner is very nice and communicated often to make sure we had everything we need. We’d give our stay a big thumbs up!!
My wife, in-laws and close friend ventured north to Frog Call to celebrate our birthdays and to escape the oppressive Florida heat; we were not disappointed. The property was everything we'd hoped and more, with extremely plush and comfortable bedding, fully equipped kitchen where we cooked more than a few meals, a new grill out front, and more than enough space for the 5 of us (and our two pups) to either gather or retreat as we saw fit. The true star of the show was the property itself; from the expansive meadow outside our bedroom window, numerous trails and creeks to explore and, most surprising of all, the glorious pond, in which we all swam, paddled and floated about with the fishes.Jimmie, the hostess, went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and help us make the best out of our week there. We will certainly be back. Thank you Jimmie!

About the host
Hosted by Jimmie Walters
Andrew and Jimmie divide their time between Duluth, GA, Augusta, and their hideaway in Dahlonega. They are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and their families, including 5 grandchildren. Originally purchased as a family getaway, Frog Call has been evolving for over 20 years, with the dream of sharing this peaceful, nurturing place come true, like pieces of a puzzle fitting together.
Why they chose this property
The search for a mountain getaway spanned 2 years. Starting off on a personal tour with the Chapman family owners, by the time they forded West Cane Creek in the old jeep, Jimmie had tears in her eyes, and the search was over. The 50 plus acres of lush forest, meadows, streams, the trails, the end of road privacy and bordered by national forest, all creating peaceful seclusion from the outside world. And located just over one hour from Atlanta, and only 6 lovely country miles from the Square.
What makes this property unique
The Cherokee Indians chose the Dahlonega area to settle for good reason. Starting with that wonderful slice of land, and an old caretakers' cottage given new life, the cozy living quarters have cautiously been expanded, allowing nature in, with a minimum of disturbance to the beautiful, natural surroundings, adding the breathtaking treehouse with queen size bed and 30 ft. bridge, and bunkhouse with hand crafted bunk beds. In every instance the right people have shown up, bringing their gifts to take it to the next level of development. Whether it was funds needed, ideas for sharing, treehouse visions, an amazingly talented architect and team, an organic farming family, a nature loving landscape company, an out of work builder, flower garden gifts, or a husband who knew how to build ponds, what has been created is a totally unique, soul reviving escape. Add to that local individuals who can create a personalized experience for you with their talents and knowledge of the area. 'There are a 1000 ways to kneel and kiss the ground.' Rumi~
