Crystal Springs, an enchanting estate on nearly 40 private acres, is an unforgettable escape where history, refined comfort, and natural beauty blend seamlessly. Enjoy the gourmet kitchen and elegant gathering spaces, ideal for shared meals and easy conversation. Step outside to extensive lawns and private forest trails leading to moss-covered rock formations and narrow canyon passages.
For more than a century, Crystal Springs has been many things: a family residence, a nursery, and even a beloved public park.
In the early 1900s, the grounds welcomed visitors from towns throughout Southeast Ohio for picnics and hikes, as well as lunch and dinner at its onsite restaurant—whose original stone chimney still stands today as a quiet reminder of the property’s past.
In addition to exclusive access to private hiking trails (all photos shown are taken on the property and accessible to guests), we’ve thoughtfully curated an elevated guest experience inside this nearly 150-year-old historic home.
Built in the late 19th century, the residence has been lovingly maintained and showcases original architectural details throughout, including rich wood trim, crown molding, and period craftsmanship that tells a story in every room. While its historic character has been carefully preserved, the home has been updated with modern comforts for an effortless and comfortable stay.
Inside, you’ll find elegant living spaces furnished with a thoughtful mix of antique and eclectic pieces, complemented by charming period details such as vintage floor lamps and curated artwork.
The gourmet kitchen is a true gathering place, featuring double ovens, a gas range, and generous space for cooking and entertaining. This is a kitchen designed for shared meals and memorable moments—we live here throughout the year and have hosted many Thanksgiving dinners in this very space.
Bathrooms are stocked with locally produced amenities, adding a thoughtful touch of regional craftsmanship to your stay.
What truly sets Crystal Springs apart is its extraordinary natural setting. The nearly 40-acre private estate features more than two miles of hiking trails winding through mature forest, leading to breathtaking discoveries such as moss-covered rock formations and narrow canyon passages carved by time. These ancient geological features create a magical atmosphere ideal for exploration, photography, or quiet reflection.
The peaceful woodland setting offers complete privacy and a deep connection with nature, while still providing every modern comfort.
Perfectly located, Crystal Springs feels like a secluded retreat while remaining a short drive from the iconic landscapes of Hocking Hills and the restaurants, shops, and charm of Historic Downtown Lancaster.
