This property is beautiful, from the charming yard, relaxing front porch with rocking chairs, through to every room in the exquisitely restored house. We didn’t expect from the description just how well-stocked the house would be...there were supplies for every need, from blankets, to tea, to spices and cooking needs. The whole space is arranged with care and attention to every detail. We had a few questions for our host which we were able to get answered promptly and carry on enjoying the space. So glad we found this gem of a property!

I'm a set designer from NYC and live primarily in our family brownstone in Brooklyn. When not designing for the stage I love working with my hands on my homes doing carpentry, gardening, masonry, and landscaping. In the past few years I've hosted film crews, photoshoots and artists and loved having the excitement and energy of new guests bring to the property.

Why they chose this property

My father was a trombone player in the orchestra at the Pines Resort in the mid 1950's for a brief but memorable summer. The enchantment of the Catskills never left him. In 2014 he decided to purchase a home close to the city so he could be near his family. We started our search and fell in love with Roscoe immediately. The tiny Main Street with cute shops, the little O&W railroad museum, the mountains surrounding, it was like out of a movie. And then when we pulled up the driveway and I got the first glimpse of the home, my heart skipped a beat. We were sold before I stepped in the door.

What makes this property unique

The yard is awesome. It's bordered with 50' pine trees and faces the mountains on the front and forrest on the back. Every view is picturesque. The lower yard has a flat grassy area that is ideal for playing ball or games or just running around. We added a huge fire pit that 10 people can sit around. There is a wild area in the lower yard that is filled with wildflowers in the summer. There are several little paths that wind through the wild area with intimate seating areas. The upper yard is landscaped with flower and herb gardens. The large upper yard has hammocks and seating, an overlook of the creek, a small fire pit, a stone patio with a large charcoal grill. There is a small porch with chairs that face the sunset. Alongside the creek we've built a little deck with a secret retreat seating area. It's perfect on a hot day with the creek gurgling along the rocks, wild flowers and hummingbird feeders making it a respite for nature as well.
