Well stocked kitchen as far as cookware, plates, etc. Very clean and quiet property. Having coffee down by the dock in the morning was relaxing. We only stayed 2 nights, and the host still checked to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this property.
It was a beautiful home and it was away from the hustle and bustle but was also a decently close drive to get to things. Overall we absolutely loved our stay at this home.
Great place. Easy to find and easy to check in. We had a family reunion in the area, so we mainly used it for sleeping, but the place looked like it would be a fun time for the family. Host was communicative and place was clean! We would stay again!
We loved it! The kids had a blast playing in the lake! The paddle boat, kayaks, life jackets and games were perfect! We also enjoyed the pet friendliness which allowed our puppy to enjoy lake life as well!

Very cute house. It has a lovely view of the lake. Beds were all comfy. Owner was awesome and attentive. Highly recommend!
On behalf of myself in New York and my family in Michigan. We can't THANK YOU enough Justin for understanding my last minute situation. The family in Michigan have expressed just how much fun and relaxation they experience at the Trufant house. Thank You so much for everything.
We had such a great week here. We actually already rebooked for next summer! This place was perfect for our family of 5. The property was ideal for yard games, swimming, fishing off the dock and just relaxing on the little beach. The house was very clean and comfortable. We had an intense week of heat but the air conditioning units in the windows did a great job keeping the house cool. The owners were so easy to communicate with as well. Great display of fireworks for the 4th of July on the lake too. We made so many memories and can’t wait for our next time back!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
I would really like to give this place a higher rating, but I cannot. The water pressure in the kitchen is nothing but a trickle. It is not acceptable to list a house for rent given these conditions. I had informed the host and he told me that he knew that this was an issue and that he was waiting to fix it during the off-season. Unfortunately, this house seems rundown with broken flooring as well as a door handle that does not work when exiting to the beach. There was also a bee infestation near the beach. it does not appear that anyone is routinely checking in on this property to ensure that it is good quality for renters.Despite the pros of this property, including a Sandy Beach, kayaks, paddle boards, and kid friendly accommodations, I would not recommend it as it is a necessity to have running water in the kitchen, and was not the case. I even offered the hosto view a video that I took of the conditions to further enlighten him of the problem to which he did not make a comment on.
My family stayed at this cute cottage for 4 nights in late July 2026. We were looking for a peaceful place where we could play in the lake, lounge around, and relax. The lake setup was perfect. We took advantage of the cottage's paddle boat, tube, and pool noodles, and had a great time playing in the lake, which is a quiet cove off of the big lake, so there was very little traffic. The one bummer was that just as we were getting ready to go out to the lake one morning, a boat pulled up, four people came onto the shore and treated the plants along the bank with chemicals, and left a sign saying the water was unsafe for swimming for the next 24 hours. Since our primary goal in renting this cottage was to play in the lake, losing almost half of our lake time was not ideal. The cottage itself was comfortable, very clean, and had everything we needed. The owners have thought of everything! The one problem we had with the house itself was only for the last 12 hours or so. We're pretty sure there was a bat in the walls in the attic where one of my kids was sleeping. She could hear it flapping its wings very near her bed, and in the middle of the night, it screeched (so she moved downstairs to sleep). We only heard this visitor at the very tail end of our visit, so I assume it's not a permanent problem. Overall, our timing wasn't great given the overlap with the chemical treatment and the bat visit, but had these things not happened, the stay would have been perfect!

Sara, we’re sorry to hear they treated the lake during your stay! That is unfortunate, hopefully the yard games & board games helped your family still enjoy the day! As for the bat, we are remodeling the upstairs this fall, so we will mention that to the builder. We haven’t encountered a bat in the 4 years we’ve owned the cottage, but definitely want to address it before it becomes an ongoing problem! Thank you for your feedback!
