Updated Lakefront Condo; Close to Pool, Beach Shuttle, tennis, and fishing!
Updated Lakefront Vacation Condo With Easy Access To Everything Sea Colony has to offer: Pools, Beach, Tram service, Fitness Center, Family-friendly Activities, and so much more!
My well maintained and modernized 2BR/2BA condo with direct lakefront view makes for a perfect mix of quiet of Sea Colony West and the excitement of the Delaware boardwalks in one vacation. I bought this condo in 2011 and every year I have improved/remodeled or updated including (I invest in maintenance every year!):
- Replaced bunk bed furnishing in 2nd bedroom (2024)
- New walk-in tile shower in Master Bath (2023)
- New dining set on deck (2023)
- New Sofa after 48 weeks of waiting for delivery (2022)
- Refreshed master bath cabinetry (2022)
- New mattress in Master Bedroom (2021)
- Repainted walls and ceiling in main living space (2021)
- New carpet in bedrooms (2020)
- New refrigerator with automatic ice maker (2020)
- New glass-top range (2020)
- New water heater (2020)
- Granite installed in Kitchen (2017)
- Installed New Pergo flooring in living and dining areas
- Installed New tile flooring in kitchen
- Mix of New and Upgraded furniture in throughout condo
- Fresh paint throughout - Painting routinely touched up and bedrooms completely repainted in 2019
- Completely remodeled main bathroom with new tile floor, new granite vanity top, new vanity cabinet, new light fixture, new mirror, and unique towel hooks
- New pots/pans, blender, microwave, and toaster in Kitchen
- 3 Flat screen TVs with cable-provided HDTV, 1 with Blue-ray player
- Wireless internet installed for complimentary tenant use
- Replaced the central Air Conditioner
- Upgraded modern front loading HE washer and and dryer (stack units)
Reading that list and looking at the pictures, it should be no surprise my condo twice earned a 'GOLD' level rating from the Sea Colony realtors summer rental division (before I switched to personally managing the summer rental schedule). I'm proud of how my property looks now so please take the time to look through the entire set of pictures.
In the master bedroom you will find a queen bed. In the second bedroom you will find a double bed with a single bunked above. Total sleeping accommodation is 5 persons.
Two of the community's pools are within a very easy walk; one of these pools also has a baby pool and the other is heated. The closest beach shuttle stop is three units away from my condo and the tram beach shuttle (a kid favorite) stops at the end of the block. TENNIS - the tennis center with over 20 courts is less than a 5 minute walk away. The fitness center was rebuilt and expanded in the 2017-2018 offseason and now has a larger indoor pool, fun water features for youngsters at the outdoor pool, plenty of exercise equipment, and an extensive offering of fitness classes for all levels. The new pickle ball courts and the family friendly amenities at the West Lake are a very short walk away.
Stays will incur a $140 cleaning fee. Guests must bring their own linens (the agencies won't let you do that) or you can book sheets for your stay directly from SheetsAtTheBeach - they have keys to my condo, they provide high quality linens less expensively than the rental agencies, and for a small extra fee they will make the beds up for you! I prefer to rent full weeks in the summer months but shorter rentals are possible in the non-prime season or for last-minute rentals.
As with every Sea Colony rental you will be responsible for purchasing recreation badges directly from the recreation association on your arrival day. These badges cost $47 per person per week in the 2024 summer months and allow access to the private beach (with life guards), the indoor and outdoor pools, the tennis courts, the fitness center, the shuttle transportation network, and other community events (e.g. the weekly beach campfire with s'mores). Unfortunately the badges are not pro-rated for shorter stays - this is one of the reasons I encourage weekly rentals.
This is strictly a non-smoking rental. Also, community regulations do not allow tenants to bring pets so no dogs or cats are allowed. For those concerned about allergies, condo owners are allowed pets and we do bring our dog when we stay.

We regularly stay in our condo in the spring, early summer and fall seasons (and occasionally in the winter). This is our only rental property, so you are truly visiting our second home... On our stays we typically have breakfast overlooking the lake and have a set of favorite restaurants we frequent for most dinners. We enjoy the same recreational activities (biking, pickleball, swimming, etc.) that will make your visit special.
Why they chose this property
Through the years we have spent many wonderful vacations in Sea Colony and Delaware/Maryland beaches - some which we rented through VRBO. Strolling to Sea Colony's many amenities (private beach, free tennis, fitness center, etc.) through the meticulously maintained grounds quickly transforms us from our everyday Northern Virginia pace to a relaxed 'vacation mode' - so much more so than other areas that we decided to purchase this condo. Now we regularly bike through the town of Bethany and to their family-friendly boardwalk. A round of golf at the Salt Pond executive course provides an 18 hole experience without the typical 5-hour time commitment - it can be played in under 3 hours and has been fantastic for teaching our teenager the game.

Sea Colony - The Premier Family Beach & Tennis Resort Community - features a half mile private beach (as the neighboring towns have grown the public beaches have become increasingly overcrowded) , 12 pools (2 within a 3 minute walk from my condo), world class tennis and pickleball, two fitness centers, extensive bike-friendly paths, activities for all ages including kiddie day camps, community shuttle and year-round security. Sea Colony is ranked among Tennis Magazine's Best U.S. Resorts and by Tennis Resorts Online as one of the finest in the world. Sea Colony's oceanfront features five oceanfront pools (including one indoor) and three kiddie pools, plus exercise facilities. The beach is a short shuttle ride (or a 10 minute walk) from my condo and from the beachfront downtown Bethany is a convenient 10 minute walk meaning you can enjoy the boardwalk without having to search for parking!
