The Placencia Beach House is a "Gold Standard" accommodation and is "gold standard approved" by the Belize Tourism Board.

THE PLACENCIA BEACH HOUSE IS LOCATED ON AN ACRE OF BEACH WITH ALMOST 200 FEET ON THE CARIBBEAN SEA.

Our reviews tell the real story of the Placencia Beach House. No descriptions or photos can capture the beauty, comfort, and peace provided by this one-of-a-kind Beach House.

Placencia Beach House has open, airy living spaces, with the accent on comfort. Dine on the large veranda, while enjoying the cool Caribbean breeze and the spectacular ocean view. Recline on your hammock or sunbathe on the 200 feet of beach front. Placencia Beach House is located at the north end of the mile-long sidewalk which meanders through the village . Our guests can easily walk to all the shops, restaurants, stores, clubs. gyms.

This is the kind of vacation retreat you will book year after year. It feels like it belongs to you. Rustic and carefree, clean and uncluttered, while having all the modern conveniences.

One queen bed with large closet and plenty of storage. Twin beds accommodates two guests, while adult size bunk beds sleep two nicely.

Full size kitchen includes 30 inch modern gas stove, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, blender, coffeemaker, double stainless steel sink, all dishes, pots and pans, flatware, and towels.

Cooling provided by overhead fans and the Caribbean trade winds. No air conditioning.

WiFi internet is available throughout the house and beyond. The house comes equipped with a flat screen smart TV. No cable TV. Guests must have their own Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other streaming services.

This house is located on an acre and a half of beachfront property. The house is elevated approximately 8 feet above the ground. Three small rooms (laundry room and shop, storage area, and sleeping room) are located beneath the house which the owner and her representatives use. A new cottage for the resident manager is located near the back of the property. The owner may have vehicles parked on the back (west) half acre where the guest also has parking space.

The beach and view is outstanding and located on my favorite stretch of downtown Placencia. You can walk straight out of your door to the "sidewalk/boardwalk" and walk all the way to the tip of the Peninsula to the marina. Dozens of restaurants, shops and bars are within minutes of a beautiful stroll. Your private beach is HUGE and gorgeous and so very quiet. It is a truly lovely place to stay.

Great place, beautiful view, excellent property manager. 2 things unclear in listing: 1) the # of beds is accurate, but there are not separate bedrooms, more like an open space with a couple of partial walls 2) the shower head is in the middle of the bathroom, no enclosure of any kind so the whole bathroom gets wet during showers. For a group of 4, this was not ideal.That said, we had a wonderful time in Placencia and appreciated the location of the house.

The location and views were AMAZING; waking up to the Caribbean ocean with palm trees swaying and grackle birds singing-felt like we were on an island in a movie scene! We had a multigenerational stay at the placencia beach house. The location was perfect, at the top of the boardwalk for easy access to town and ok the most beautiful stretch of the placencia beach. Lou was a wonderfullu helpful host and the house is really well equipped and very comfortable. I could have happily stay there forever.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Placencia Beach House! Lou is a wealth of knowledge and such a wonderful host. Everything about the experience was seamless… booking the house, communication before and during our stay, advice on local companies to use for excursions, pointers on where to find the best local lunches. Our family of 6 fit comfortably in the house, and had everything we needed during our stay. Even with the warm, sunny days, the house was always cool with the ocean breeze. Coffee and mornings on the porch were the best; the view can’t be beat! When we return to Placencia we will definitely be staying at the Placencia Beach House again!

Dreamy spot for best beach vacation

Placencia Beach House is a special place. We (mom, dad, adult daughter) stayed five nights right after Christmas and didn't want to leave. The property is stunning. The view from the veranda out to the beachfront and water never gets old. It's a perfect location - an easy walk into the village, but far enough out that it's quiet and calm. The house is well equipped with everything we needed. Kitchen is well stocked with all implements needed for making drinks and food. WiFi worked great. Beds are comfy. Fans and breezes keep the place cool. To echo another reviewer below - huge shout out to Mauricio who is an awesome, helpful, and responsive manager and made our stay great. We look forward to returning to this amazing slice of heaven in the future!

The Vibe That Keeps Giving

My mother, sister, and myself spent a much needed week on a girl's trip in this beach house and it was exactly what we needed. The house is clean, functional and rustic in the best way possible. Having no ac was only a challenge when there was no ocean breeze and everything is hot and still but with the breeze it is amazing. There is everything you need to enjoy your stay. Everything. The views from the verandah are breathtaking. Lou is a great host who is available but unintrusive. Thank you for sharing your home. If you want a little heaven on Earth then this is your spot.

Perfect Beach House

If you are looking for the perfect Beach House getaway, then this is your place. I've stayed many places on the beach over the years but never a place with as much charm and character at this. Full kitchen has everything you need to prepare that fresh catch from your fishing trip or any other meal you wish to make. Full size fridge for all your beverages & food storage. Plenty of super soft towels and linens to accommodate a full family. My wife, 3 kids and I stayed here very comfortably and absolutely loved it! A wonderful open feel to the place, just open the windows and let the ocean breeze move right through. The property is hands down, the best private beach setting on the peninsula. Huge yard between you and the beach with groomed palm trees scattered about for just enough shade and more than 150 ft of beachfront. Situated right at norther most end of the sidewalk, it is walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants, and bars but just far enough away to make it feel private and secluded. Mrs. Lou was a wonderful host and was easy to get ahold of if needed. We all give this beach house 5 stars and will absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Placencia!

Better than Advertised!

What a fantastic place! It was perfect for our family of four with room to spare. Super simple with a great vibe. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows and fans to keep it cool. Having the kitchen was great. The market is within walking distance and it’s relatively easy to shop and cook. We loved the deck and spent a ton of time out there playing cards at the table or swinging in the hammocks. The private beach is big and beautiful (if receding a bit), with lots of palm trees, a picnic table and lounge chairs. There’s a convenient outdoor shower with a foot nozzle to rinse off. The location was great and gave the peace and quiet of the north end without requiring an excessive walk to a cafe or restaurant or down to the point. But as incredible as the house is, the best part is the caretaker, Mauricio. Just a great human being. He was happy to arrange transportation to/from the airport, which is a short drive away. He hung out with us and helped the kids catch bait with their cast-net and recommended fishing spots and lures. Always quick to respond when we had a question, he was a great resource. Mauricio was a big part of the reason it was truly an unforgettable stay!

Pure Paradise!!

My family of 4 stayed in this fantastic cottage for our Christmas vacation. From the moment we got there we knew we found something special! The cottage itself was situated ocean front with palm trees all around, absolutely surreal. The inside is an open concept which made the place feel very roomy. All the supplies plus more that you could ever need are all there, lots of soft towels, toilet tissue, paper towels, things that are just nice to have supplied for you while on vacation. Joshlin is available to you whenever you need her. She couldn't have been a more gracious host. Epi, who helps with the grounds, was also there and very generously retrieved us some coconuts from the palm trees and gave us fresh coconut water...and then filled up a pitcher for our weeks stay refreshment! Amazing! Placencia in general is SO MUCH FUN!! You walk along the sidewalk of Placencia and you're surrounded by live music everywhere and a large assortment of eateries. Overall, my family had the best vacation! Returning is a must and we wouldn't look anywhere else to stay! Thank you Joshlin and Lou for an amazing family vacation!!

6 fantastic weeks

My wife and I spent six great weeks at the Placencia Beach House from December to February. During that time, we had guests visit utilizing the extra beds. The setup is great for up to 4 adults and 2 kids (the bunkbeds are small for adults). The transfer from the airport was super easy and just a short taxi ride. The house is on the sidewalk and is just less than a mile to the point. We made the walk multiple times a day enjoying the beauty and friendly people of Placencia. The walk helped offset the food and beverage intake. The Placencia Beach Club is a short walk away. There are multiple places to get great food and drinks. The property is postcard beautiful. We enjoyed the open-air living that seemed to give more of a Island Living feel. We spent all our time on the patio enjoying the weather, views and hammocks. Some days the ocean was smooth as glass and others had waves rolling in. The ocean is typically very clear with a great sand bottom right outside our door. We would rate our experience a 10+. We have done many all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, but this had a completely different enjoyment.

Paradise in Placencia!

Right from our first communication with Joshlin, my husband and I knew this was going to be a good vacation home to rent......we didn't expect it to be as outstanding as it was!! The location is prime with the boardwalk just step from the house that brings you into town. There is a grocery store a few minutes walk up the driveway, although as Joshlin pointed out, eating out tends to be less expensive than buying food to cook at the house. We did buy fresh fruit the days it was delivered to have for breakfast and of course beer and rum for those relaxing times on the deck or lounging in the beach chairs by the edge of the ocean :) The one small negative which could have simply been a timing issue with our trip, it that there seemed to be a lot of people travelling with their dogs who would bark during the day when we were trying to take in all that nature has to offer at the Placencia Beach House. This in no way reflects our opinion of the house, the location, or the top notch service we received! Despite the fact that my husband and I are very low maintenance, Joshlin was always around if/when we needed to ask her something but kept her distance allowing us the privacy we were looking for. We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean using VRBO rentals and this little Piece of Paradise definitely ranks in our top 3!! Thank you again Joshlin for sharing your wonderful piece of Paradise in Placencia with my husband and I! We will definitely see you again in our future excursions! Astrid & Nick

Perfect place to stay

The Placencia Beach house was a delight in every way. The home itself is beautiful, cozy and highly functional. The deck is amazing and doubles the living space. Walk out your front yard and the beautiful water awaits. Out the back door you reach the Placencia Sidewalk. Easy access to everything and the grocery store is just a block away. The owner, Lou, a decades long Placencia resident, was on site and added immensely to our enjoyment of this home, her town and Belize overall. Highly recommend Placencia Beach House.

Love Placencia Beach House!

Cute and rustic beach house located on THE most beautiful lot in the whole area. We felt very fortunate to have chosen this property, as some of the beach further south was pretty gross (sargassum/trash) for the first part of the week. This area seems to get a lot less and we enjoyed the beach and ocean from day 1. The deck and hammocks are an oasis and the huge "front yard" is gorgeously maintained. The interior is nicely kept, but not so fancy that you are afraid of ruining anything after coming off the beach - the perfect combination of functional and comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked and the manager keeps you in supply of delicious fresh coconut water. No AC, but not needed - lots of fans and ocean breezes. Great selection of books, movies and games. Joshlin has though of just about everything to make for a great beach getaway. All the little things that some rentals neglect are not overlooked here (umbrellas, coffee filters, first aid kit, bug repellant, cooler, etc. - the list goes on and on).The only thing I would improve is the lighting. The kitchen, dining area and bathroom are very brightly/harshly lit which can make it tricky for night owls or early risers to not disturb others. Maybe a few smaller lamps or lower wattage bulbs? I'd also recommend earplugs for light sleepers as there are some neighborhood dogs who bark very early (but I don't think there is any escaping this in Placencia). Overall we loved the Placencia Beach House and can't wait to return. We scoped out a lot of other places while walking around and just kept saying how lucky we were and that we were staying in the BEST place in Placencia!

Beautiful property to enjoy life on the beach

Our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids, ranging in age from 5-12) stayed at the Placencia Beach House in December 2019 for almost the entire month. We absolutely loved our time in Placencia, and it was in no small part due to this beautiful space and welcoming host. The location is perfect- far from the noisy bars but still a short walk away from everything you could want. First off, the house itself is beautiful. So clean, very nicely decorated, and lots of windows. My kids got a kick out of the fact that no room was completely closed off, but of course that means that you get great airflow and the space stays cool even without A/C. The kitchen was well appointed. It was great to have reusable shopping bags available for our trips to Top Value and the fruit market. The expansive beach front and grown palm trees gives a sense of privacy, and in fact it is hard to see onto the porch when you are by the water. We made good use of the laundry and loved getting to hang dry our clothes. We swam in the sea almost everyday. I recommend bringing snorkel masks for comfort in the salt water. We would see fish and sand rays without having to go deep. The washed up shells and coral were cool finds for the kids. I highly recommend: waking early to catch sunrise on the beach and for a quiet beach walk, Mim's restaurant for stew chicken, Brewed Awakenings for donuts and seaweed smoothies, Top Value for groceries, Sunnyside Tours for snorkel trips, Cha Chi's for the Kriol pizza, and Tutti Frutti for ice cream. It really is so good! We ate a lot of street food while in Placencia and never got sick, so if you are feeling adventurous also give the home cooking a try. We used William's Shuttle Service to get to Placencia from the airport and were so pleased with the experience we booked it again on the way back. We decided to stop at the Belize zoo on our return trip and it ended up being one of the best experiences of the whole vacation. Last but certainly not least, we know our time in Placencia was as special as it was because of Joshlyn. She knows so much about Placencia, and had recommendations and advice for us no matter the topic. She was available and responsive to our questions- before and during our trip. I am so glad we had the chance to learn about Belize from her.

A true beach vacation

This is what staying at the beach is supposed to be. Great outdoor space, expansive beach, close walk to great food and a true beach town. The house is not isolated from its environment, its part of it in the best possible ways. If you want A/C and room service, look elsewhere. Towns like Placencia and this beach house are hard to find and harder to retain. Live it and love it while you can.

Placencia Beach House is perfect for those wanting an Old World Caribbean beach experience. The house is simple, rustic, and immaculately clean. We spent a week with four adults and a teenage boy, and all enjoyed immensely. We hope to have started a tradition.

Placencia Paradise

WOW!! We were blown away with everything!! The house, location, beach, views, friendliness and all that was provided at this beautiful beach house!! There were great recommendations for dining, drinks and a variety of activities and we felt like it was our home for the duration! The property manager couldn't have been more helpful and friendly! We also appreciated the privacy we had the entirety of our stay! We definitely plan to return to this piece of paradise!!! Thank you!!!
