Nestled in Akeley, this delightful lake home offers a perfect retreat for families to gather in beautiful northern Minnesota. With zero entry to the cabin and a flat, grassy lot to the sandy beach, this place is easy for everyone to enjoy. The bedrooms are spacious with easy access to the bathroom. Enjoy TV and movies by the fireplace in the living room or enjoy fun in the rec room with foosball, arcade games, and pingpong. The kitchen is fully stocked and the two gas grills (Blackstone and Weber) are available for meal preparation.

Howard Lake is a crystal clear, spring fed lake buffeted with tall pines and Chippewa National Forest. Enjoy biking, walking, or ATV/snowmobile riding on the trails near by. We provide water bikes, a canoe, and paddle boards for the lake. The fire pit sits near the lake with fire wood provided. Yard games and a hammock are provided.

Whether you’re unwinding or gathering with loved ones, this beautiful lake home provides a welcoming place to connect and make memories. We look forward to hosting you at our place.

We only book Sunday to Sunday June through August.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
All dishes are cleaned, put away, and dishwasher is unloaded Wash and fold all bath towels Remove sheets from beds that have been slept in and place in laundry room-keep pillows and blankets on bed
Board games and outdoor games are put away Turn power off on the table arcade game Sweep floor in the garage Hammock is dry and in the garage Grills are cleaned and covered. Turn off gas valve
Water bikes are tied back up to the right side of the dock Beach is raked Garbage is removed and placed in the garbage bins by road Lights are turned off All doors and windows are closed and locked
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Per the Cass County Ordinance No, 2024.04 Short Term Rental Ordinance quiet hours are: 10 pm to 8 am Sun through Thurs 12 am to 8 am Fri to Sat

We are so excited to welcome you to our dream lake home. We purchased our Howard Lake home in August of 2025. Our home is in the Twin Cities. We have twin daughters who are married. One lives in Maui and the other in the Twin Cities area. Our favorite times are spent together as a family at the lake.
