About the host
Hosted by Christina Gong
Our background is in consulting, and for most of our career, we practically lived in hotels and on airplanes. Travel has always been a big part of our lives — both professionally and personally. By the time our daughter was five, she had already visited 15 countries.
After spending so much time in hotels for work, we grew tired of the cold, “matchbox” feeling of standard rooms. When we travel as a family, we’ve always preferred STR — having a kitchen, outdoor space, and a home with character makes all the difference. Those small human touches turn a trip into a real experience.
We began hosting short-term rentals in 2021 with our beachfront property in Galveston. That home holds special meaning for our family. Before we owned our own place, we rented it while I was pregnant and throughout our daughter’s early childhood. We celebrated each of her birthdays there with friends on the beach, and it became part of so many beautiful milestones and memories.
The owner generously shared their home with us during such a meaningful chapter of our lives, and we’ve always been grateful. Now, we’re honored to share our spaces with others in the same spirit

Why they chose this property
The neighborhood around Teague House feels peaceful and established, with mature trees lining the streets and a quiet, residential rhythm that makes you forget you’re in a major city. Mornings are calm and unhurried — perfect for a walk, a cup of coffee outside, or simply enjoying the stillness before the day begins.
What we enjoy most is the balance. You’re tucked away from the noise, yet just minutes from some of Houston’s best dining, shopping, and green spaces. It’s easy to step out for an incredible meal or a quick grocery run, then return to a space that feels private and grounded. That contrast — city convenience with neighborhood tranquility — is what makes this area so special to us.

What makes this property unique
he Teague House is our second short-term rental. During the week, we use it as an office for our consulting company, especially when team members travel in for work. We intentionally designed it to be more than just a place to sleep. You’ll find independent work areas throughout the house, along with comfortable spaces for collaboration, conversation, and gathering.
We designed the space with a clean, minimalist aesthetic while making sure it feels warm and inviting. It’s a place where you can take a deep breath, tune out the outside noise, and find clarity — whether that means being productive and creative or simply slowing down and reconnecting with yourself.
The outdoor areas offer a peaceful setting to enjoy fresh air, connect with nature, and savor a quiet moment.
Our goal is simple: to create a true home away from home — a place where you can relax, recharge, and still be productive if needed. Whether you’re visiting for work or leisure, we hope you feel the warmth and thoughtfulness we’ve built into every corner.
