About this property

Blue Ridge mountain retreat, ideal spot to unplug & enjoy nature’s quiet beauty

Welcome to Walking Bear — a one-of-a-kind mountain modern retreat designed for unforgettable stays in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Thoughtfully curated with elevated finishes, expansive gathering spaces, and luxury amenities throughout, this custom cabin is perfect for couples, families, or friends looking to unwind in style.

The entry level features two spacious king suites, each offering comfort, privacy, and abundant natural light through oversized windows. The primary suite includes a spa-inspired bathroom with a stunning wet-room design featuring a soaking tub and oversized walk-in shower. The second king suite also offers a beautifully appointed full bathroom with an extra-large shower space for a luxurious experience.

At the center of the home is a warm and inviting open-concept living space with soaring ceilings, dramatic windows, and a gorgeous authentic Italian leather sectional — the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the mountains. The fully stocked kitchen includes everything needed for cooking and entertaining, along with a large island that provides generous prep space and seating. A gas fireplace adds cozy ambiance during cooler months (available October 15–April 15).

Step outside through the sliding glass doors onto the expansive upper deck, designed for both relaxation and entertaining. Enjoy evenings around the outdoor fireplace with a spacious 7-seat sectional, dine al fresco at the oversized outdoor dining table for eight, or fire up the gas grill for a mountain cookout.

Downstairs, the screened-in lower deck creates an entirely separate outdoor living experience — covered, comfortable, and usable year-round. This space features a wood-burning fireplace, hot tub, Smart TV, ping pong table, darts, and additional lounge seating, making it the ultimate gathering space for fun and relaxation.

The cabin includes high-speed internet and Smart TVs in both king suites, the main living room, and the downstairs entertainment area.

As an added bonus, guests also have access to a private riverside firepit area located just a quarter mile from the cabin on adjoining property we own. Spend your evenings by the river enjoying a fire, fishing, or simply taking in the peaceful mountain surroundings.

With its custom design, luxury details, soaring architecture, and incredible indoor-outdoor living spaces, Walking Bear offers a truly elevated mountain getaway experience unlike anything else in the area. We can’t wait to host you.
