We cannot say enough good things about our recent stay at Victoria and Brent’s lovely house. The communication with them was outstanding, The house was comfortable, in pristine condition and well stocked. It was ideally located for the attractions we wanted to visit and had beautiful Hudson River views. The home’s proximity to the river and the Vanderbilt mansion resulted in spectacular evening walks. We highly recommend this home if your travels bring you to Hyde Park.
Perfect spot for anything Marist-related, thoughtfully appointed with things we don't even know we needed, like a handheld steamer, there were fresh flowers and fresh local donuts (which were delicious!), very comfortable beds and very responsive owners. Would definitely stay here again!
This was like an old fashioned VRBO stay, it was like staying at a friends house with actual seasonings, bathroom items, nice couch, record player. The location is wonderful as well with a view of the river and the town.
Great kitchen set up! Good location! Close to river and nice walkable park on river. And cross the street from the Vanderbilt! Love the sound of the waterfall!
Nice clean house, well appointed. It was just right for what we needed. Beautiful view of the river. Wish we had been able to sit out in the backyard. We had a little time to sit on the front porch, hearing the waterfall and enjoying the peaceful setting. We enjoyed listening to records on the record player. Nice thoughtful touches, such as vibrant carnations to give a pop of color, a lovely note from the hosts and seasonal apple cider donuts. There were even umbrellas which came in handy for the very rainy day. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!
The setting was beautiful. Close to the FDR Presidential Museum and Vanderbilt House. Walked down to the Hudson River and met local history and train buffs with lots of good advice and information. The kitchen was complete and the place was spotless. The steps are steep to the upper bedrooms but not a problem. Sitting on the front porch in the evening listening to the waterfall was lovely too.
Wonderful property with beautiful views of the Hudson. We enjoyed relaxing on the porch listening to the waterfall across the street and walking around the Vanderbilt Estate (which is a few minutes up the road). Home is clean and well-stocked, beds are comfy, and there were fresh flowers throughout. Owners are lovely and very responsive with ideas for activities and restaurants. We enjoyed the delicious cider donuts they left for us. Location is great with lots of historical and nature activities nearby, as well as access to grocery stores. Would definitely stay here again.
Very well decorated. A great record collection & record player. Kitchen had all that was needed. No central air but room air conditioners. Very handy location with a beautiful view of the Hudson. Also its is a very short walk down to the Hudson. Beds were very comfortable and the hosts took great care to make the house cozy and comfy.
Traveling with my brother and sister in law through NY State. This was a first VRBO stay for them What a starter! A great little house, neat, clean, and extraordinarily well equipped and furnished. A lovely stay in a lovely location. Note: stairs to 2 second floor bedrooms are narrow and steep - the way stairs in older homes were. The fittest should take the upper rooms. The host were so accomodating and informative! Hope your stay is as delightful as ours was! 5 stars!
Older house. Good location between FDR & Vanderbilt home. Very responsive owners. It is located where you can hear the train whistle so be prepared with ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. It could use blackout drapes as the sun was pouring in without them. The AC units are loud. Wasn’t sure how to operate some of the electronics but it’s nicely outfitted with soaps/shampoos, etc.
