Fireside Retreat was a nice place with good amenities in a good location. The only reason I didn’t give it a higher rating is because of parking and several maintenance issues. All nearby homes have adjacent parking. We were able to park by ours too, but only because the street was closed off in front of it due to it being caved in right by the house so we appropriated that spot. Otherwise our 2 designated parking spots were down the street. Also the master bath’s shower door was stuck off track and the AC on the floor with the indoor pool, theater room and a bedroom did not work, so one of our party who used that bedroom was uncomfortable two of our 4 nights there and we couldn’t use the theater room. I will credit the hosts for quickly sending repairmen out. Still, we were inconvenienced 2 out of our 3 full days there with maintenance in and out. (They had to call in an AC repairman after determining they couldn’t fix it, who then had to order a part.) They were very polite, so nothing against them and the repairs all did get done. It was just something I think should have been addressed before we arrived. (The cleaners should have reported all this.) I’ve left out a few other issues as they were minor and we didn't report them as we didn’t want to deal with more maintenance people. That said, it was still a nice place and the hosts were very gracious—and the repairmen were friendly, too.
