Chic A-Frame Cabin: Serene Forest Hideaway in Pine Mountain Club
Escape to The Yay-Frame — a chic 1970's A-frame tucked among the towering pines of Los Padres National Forest in Pine Mountain Club. Less than 90 miles from LA, this serene retreat offers golden natural light, a spacious deck made for morning coffee and starlit nights, and the quiet charm of one of the town's few true A-frames. Unplug, soak up the mountain air, and let summer slow down here.
To enter The Yay-Frame, climb a flight of stairs to a spacious outdoor deck, then step through French doors into an inviting living room with a bar, record player, board games, and TV. The first floor also holds the kitchen, bathroom, and a bedroom with a twin/full bunk bed. Upstairs, a loft bedroom with a queen bed and work desk overlooks it all.
What you'll love: Serene Forest Setting: At 6,000 ft, the highest point in town, you're surrounded by towering pines, total privacy, and crisp mountain air.
Light-Filled & Airy: Big windows flood the space with sunshine all day long.
Deck Life: Sip your morning coffee, watch the sunset filter through the pines, or stargaze into a sky made for it — PMC is an official dark-sky town.
A Stylish Escape: Less than 90 miles north of LA, PMC is the perfect summer weekend getaway to slow down, reset, and recharge.
More about our home: The Yay-Frame is a true A-frame, filled with natural light that pours through the trees. Cozy seating invites long conversations, a spin on the record collection, or a quiet afternoon with a board game and an espresso from our well-stocked coffee corner.
Slow mornings are non-negotiable here. You'll find a drip coffee maker, Smeg espresso machine, Chemex, French press, Fellow gooseneck kettle, and grinder — plus whole beans, ground coffee, and a variety of teas. Take your cup out to the deck and greet the day with a little bird watching.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and baking, with an amply sized Smeg fridge, a PÜR water pitcher, a blender for frosty margs, a waffle iron for lazy mornings, and charcuterie boards for serving up bites with wine from the bar cabinet (no microwave, but a Breville toaster oven is on hand).
The upstairs loft bedroom looks out over the living room, with a plush queen bed positioned to wake up to treetop views through a large picture window. A quick note for families with little ones: the open loft railing has wider spacing, so we recommend extra supervision for young children upstairs.
Downstairs, the bedroom features a custom bunk bed (twin over full). Just across the hall, the bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and all the little essentials you might forget.
The deck is the true heart of the home in summer — spacious enough to dine under the trees and string lights, or lay back with a blanket for uninterrupted stargazing in one of the region's few certified dark-sky towns.

Guests can access the PMC Clubhouse, with two restaurants, a golf course, tennis courts, and a seasonal pool. Ask us for details upon booking.

This place is such a gem, unique and very comfortable. We could not have had a better time. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing spot with style in a beautiful environment: this is it. Communication with the hosts was very easy and they went the extra mile to make sure everything worked out perfectly. Checking in and out was flawless. I can totally see us coming back there.
