Darren and Laura’s property is beautiful and just as described and shown in the photos. They were very welcoming; Darren gave a tour and made sure we knew how to use the barrel sauna, pool and hot tub. They checked in to be sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area!

Why they chose this property

Nestled in the Oakland Hills along Skyline Boulevard, this home is surrounded by mature redwoods, fresh air, and peaceful hillside views—offering a true nature-forward experience while still being close to the city.

This area is known for its quiet, residential feel, winding scenic roads, and immediate access to some of the East Bay’s best outdoor spaces. Guests love being just minutes from:

Redwood Regional Park and Joaquin Miller Park for hiking, biking, and trail running

Montclair Village, with local cafés, grocery stores, and restaurants

Oakland Zoo, a short drive away

Easy routes to Berkeley, downtown Oakland, and San Francisco

It’s an ideal neighborhood for guests who value privacy, tranquility, and nature, while still wanting convenient access to urban amenities.

What makes this property unique

This is not a typical backyard ADU—it’s a purpose-built, design-forward retreat set within a resort-like outdoor environment.

What truly sets this property apart:

Private rear ADU with its own entrance, separated from the main home for a quiet, secluded stay

Resort-style outdoor amenities, including a swimming pool, hot tub, expansive deck, and fire pit surrounded by trees

Modern architecture and interiors, blending clean lines with warm natural textures

Forest immersion—guests wake up to birdsong, filtered sunlight, and redwood views rather than street noise

A rare combination of nature + luxury + proximity to the Bay Area

Many guests describe the space as feeling like a boutique hotel hidden in the woods, offering an experience that’s difficult to find anywhere else in Oakland.
