This place is one in a billion. We stayed for our wedding and will be coming back for an anniversary. Stunning, magical, and perfect are just a few of the words that barely begin to describe how much we loved this stay.
Beautiful cottage, well appointed. Cannot beat the view or outdoor space. Everything was very comfortable and clean and the hosts were amazing and very communicative. 10/10

Thank you George. You are welcome back anytime. 🙏🏻
Magical place to stay. Wish there was a heads up about issues for toddlers (no plastic cups or lock on balcony door) and window coverings. But all in all, very comfortable.

The Mermaid Cabin at 67 Norman Lane is a truly unique property, with priceless views, and a wonderful combination of modern amenities and rustic vibes to help you focus on the present.
The views of the bay and San Francisco, and the Bay Bridge are great.
The hosts communicate well and are friendly and accommodating. We'll be back!

We would welcome Matthew and his family back anytime. They were great guests. Communicative, clean, thoughtful and respectful.
As others have commented, the grounds and views of this property are truly stunning. And it is so quiet up on this hill! The cottage itself is cute, quirky and fun, with the main bedroom being the highlight as it affords incredible views and a truly resplendent bed that was perhaps the most comfortable we've ever slept in. Hosts are great and the neighborhood was also a pleasant surprise, with a nice market and many restaurants just a short drive away. Hope to return!
Rarely do actual visits exceed the expectations formed from the ads on the Internet. The Mermaid House did. What a beautiful place! The views were fantastic. The 100-year-old house was solid and functioned perfectly. A little East Bay inland oasis. One could easily walk to the
wonderful Village Market (also well over 60 years old.)

Thank you Stacy. You were a great guest and welcome back anytime.
Whether you are looking for beautiful surroundings, a gorgeous view, or a one of a kind experience you will find it here. The cottage is a nonpareil both for its location and charm, where you can at once feel as though you are alone in the world, yet also in the middle of everything the Bay Area has to offer, from the wine country foothills to the cliff side beaches of Half Moon Bay, to the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset every evening. The best of everything!

Nancy was a super guest. Communicative, thoughtful, and a very nice person. Nancy is welcome back anytime!
Quirky, cute, BRIGHT, cozy, airy, private, unique little abode perched atop upper rockridge. The house is small so be ready for comfortably confined spaces in the kitchen and dining room, but the master bedroom is what it is all about. Bed is extraordinary and the city lights at night and the sun in the morning make for inclusive feel to the city around even though you are existing in perfect silence up on the hill. We absolutely loved it! Bradley was quick with responses via text which is appreciated and very kind. Thank you for having us.

About the host
Your host
We'd like to introduce ourselves. Bradley and I renovated the home last year. I am a designer by trade and offer retreats for women. Bradley works with environmental technologies. We live nearby here in Upper Rockridge with our dog Supernova who is an explosion.
Why they chose this property
Bradley and I started a home flipping business at the start of Covid since both of our businesses slowed down. After renovating and restoring the two homes on the compound, we decided to hang on to the property. The main home is fully renovated and will not have guests in it when the cottage is occupied. The whole quiet compound is exclusively yours to enjoy.
What makes this property unique
The private outdoor dining and lounging areas are beautifully landscaped with 360 degree views of San Francisco and the bay. Moroccan lanterns swing above a large, outdoor dining table and the outdoor living area is complimented with a fountain and a fire pit.
