Everything about this stay was wonderful! Beautiful clean property. It was a home away from home. My kids, 4yo and 11yo, loved their rooms! The kitchen set up was very nice!
Nice Rooms - comfortable for small group - Enjoyed downstairs area for small group to socialize.
Water pressure in showers needs attention but not show stopper.
We enjoyed our stay. The master bed was comfortable. The outdoor TV was great! Kids watched movies and adults played music on YouTube. The only draw back was the kitchen was minimally furnished and there isn’t an ice maker in the freezer.
The house was nice and clean and ready for our arrival. Had mostly everything we needed to accommodate my family. Only thing I have a complaint about is the grill was in poor shape and could use a replacement. If you’re planning on cooking out on your vacation, you may want to bring a tailgate grill or something like that. And the fire pit didn’t have a LP tank but luckily we brought one just in case either the grill or fire pit didn’t have a full one. Besides this, everything was great. I still give it 5 stars because it was in a nice, quiet neighborhood, it was super clean, and everything worked for us. We enjoyed our stay!
I was very excited to have my first stay in Dauphin Island, but I will admit I was nervous as I had never used VRBO or Vacasa before. It’s safe to say the ease of use with the code provided for entry, as well as the directions to the property were seamless and easy to understand. Dauphin Island isn’t very large, so the location of the house was a short drive to any place we wanted to go from the Pirates Bay restaurant to the beaches. I had a great stay and the house was plenty spacious and very nice.
The upstairs back porch chair I fell through, the kitchen barstools seats were not attached. The Blanket in the master had stains on it . Over all it’s a great place and great location, plenty of hot water !

Thank you for sharing your feedback and bringing some items to our attention that may need some TLC. While we know it doesn't remedy your negative experience, we hope the compensation provided alleviates some of the stress. We will use your feedback and experience to help create a more positive environment in this home moving forward, and we hope that you will allow us a second chance to host you for an incredible vacation experience in the future.
Turtle's Nest is a wonderful home for a family vacation. I say "home" because that is how it feels. The neighborhood is quiet and the whole atmosphere on the island is relaxing. The home was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed relaxing at night after a day on the beach in the outdoor areas. Beaches/restaurants are approximately 2 - 5 minutes away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will definitely be back.
Note: - Tires on 2 of the bicycles need replaced. The tires are dry rotted. Was not a problem but just wanted to let the homeowner know.

Thank you, Wendy, for your feedback! We are happy you enjoyed this home. We appreciate your suggestion about the tires. We look forward to welcoming you back for another wonderful getaway in the future!
While the location, cleanliness, and accuracy of the listing were good. There were three pretty important aspect that were missing.1. We had 7 people, there were only 6 towels total in the house. And we could not find a linen closet. 2. As mentioned, 7 people. There were only 6 sets of sheets and blankets. Total. We called Vrbo and were told someone would bring some by. No one ever came. 3. We stayed Mon night through Thu morning. By Wed evening we had run out of toilet paper. Remember, 7 people. Most houses I have stayed at had a linen closet full of sheets, toilet paper, and many other toiletries and linens. We looked in every closet every room. In fact the only reason we had 6 linens and not 5 is because we looked in the ottoman at the end of the couch. I really wish we didn’t have struggles we did because it was a nice location and the house was big enough for all of us. It just was these basics that we didn’t get that ruined it for us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the location, cleanliness, and accuracy of the listing. However, we are truly sorry to learn about the issues you experienced with the towels, linens, and toilet paper during your stay. We strive to provide all the essentials to make our guests’ stays comfortable, and we apologize that we fell short in these areas. Typically, homes are stocked with enough towels and linens for the maximum occupancy, along with extra supplies like toilet paper and toiletries. We understand how frustrating it must have been to run out of these basics, especially with a group of seven. We appreciate you letting us know about the missing linens and the lack of follow-up after your call to VRBO. We will be sure to share your comments with our local team to help improve the guest experience and prevent this from happening in the future. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again and provide a seamless stay.
It was a breath of fresh air!! Soft colors inside. Very roomy and not crowded with furniture or fixtures. The only thing I would recommend is a more comfortable set of mattresses for the guest queen bed and the two bunk beds. Adults slept on them and said they were a bit hard. But they did not complain, and it absolutely did not dampen our stay. :0) The dumbwaiter was extremely useful. We all were on motorcycles and we would use the dumbwaiter to transport our luggage, helmets, jackets, souvenirs, groceries, etc. It was very convenient considering the high stairways in both front and back of the house. It was an amazing stay. We definitely plan to visit again, and highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit Dauphin Island.
The property was great. Seemed new and nicely decorated. Everything was as advertised. We liked the location. It was nice and private and well maintained. There were a few things that need attention. The master bath would not hold water. The guest bath had a very slow drain. But the main thing was the lack of proper kitchen pots and pans. Most of the restaurants are closed during the off season so we had to cook. There are only a few pots and pans and they are very old. Also there were no matches to light the grill which caused an additional trip to the market after we returned with our groceries. A little supply drawer would be nice. But overall I would definitely stay there again. I’m sure the kinks will be worked out soon. Thank you.

Let me start off by saying, this is a beautiful home. I would recommend this house for many people. It is in a great location on a nice, quiet dead end street, right in the middle of the island. We were able to walk, with 4 children, to the east end of the island, no problem. The lift for our luggage is a very nice feature. There was also enough to do outside, around the property to keep you busy. The dartboard kept our older kids entertained. The outdoor shower was also very convenient after beach days. It also had plenty of room for our family of six.
However, we did have a few issues while staying in this home. We had four children with us, oldest being eleven and the youngest, almost two. There were two interior doors that would not latch (master bedroom, and laundry room). Once our youngest figured out she could push the doors open, we could not keep her out of the rooms
We also had issues with the wifi, it would drop out for long periods of time. While we didn't spend alot of time on the internet, it was a small inconvenience when trying to get the kids to settle down for the night watching a movie.
The jetted tub, which my wife was looking forward to, the drain plug would not latch closed. Making it unusable as a tub.
The washer, dryer, and dishwasher, while convenient, and functional, were very loud. I would not recommend using them at night while people are trying to sleep.
Overall i would recommend this hose, just maybe not for someone with small children
