Oceanfront serenity awaits the two of you at Ocean Wind Retreat, a very romantic getaway spot. Dog friendly, view of the light house from the bedroom with a queen size bed and TV. Free WIFI. There is a full bath with a tub/shower combination. The front room has a kitchenette: fridge, coffee maker, micro-wave, toaster, electric wok (there is no oven or range) and utensils. A gas Cuisinart BBQ is available for private use by the deck on the ocean side of the front yard.

The front room has a Captains Bed perched high to optimize comfort and the scenery outdoors. Step outside to a spacious oceanfront deck and yard, or seek out the path overlooking the beach with love seat and complete privacy. A large indoor soaking tub for two, beautifully tiled, with ocean views and an indoor sauna add to the rest and relaxation of this wonderful retreat! The bedroom: queen bed, open closet, dresser, TV and "fire" light for ambience, has a view of the light house. Host provides flowers and gift basket free of charge.

A favorite vacation, birthday and honeymoon spot. Located at the South end of Nye Beach in Newport, OR, just next door to Georgie's Beach side grill for scrumptious dining. Enjoy the Newport Performing Arts Center, many area restaurants, art galleries, wine tasting and several music venues. Less than 3 minutes to the Newport Bayfront, Hatfield Marine Science Center or the Oregon Coast Aquarium. Walking distance to two parks.

This apartment is on the ground floor, with a permanent residence above where the host/owner is available if needed. A wonderful location for the artist, writer, editor or anyone just seeking quiet solitude for inspiration. Please adhere to the policy of No Smoking. One dog is allowed; call owner regarding extra pet.

The place is just as cute and charming as pictured, the host had treats and a toy for our dog and fresh flowers, and it’s in an amazing location with beach access and walkable to restaurants and shops.

Perfect location to explore Oregon coast.

My wife and I stayed here for a week and everything was perfect. Home was clean and well cared for, host was attentive and communicative, and the location cannot be beat. Highly recommended!

The location of this property was perfect. It is a duplex with the rental on the bottom floor. It was very clean . The beach view was beautiful. The property owner had a nice welcoming basket, food, and bottle of wine.

Beautiful view and solitude of stay

Awesome Retreat

Owner was very nice and asked if we needed anything. It was such a cozy little place. I really enjoyed the soaking tub. Easy access to the beach. Everything was perfect! I would recommend this to any one who wants a private retreat.

Fantastic location, great amenities

Ocean Wind Retreat would be great just on the basis of its location and its fantastic views of the waves rolling in, but Jeannie's little touches elevated our stay, from the art on the walls to the welcome basket and the clear communication about checking. We're hoping to stay here again next year.

Sola retreat with dog

I loved this place, and so did my dog. The location, view, amenities, and of course sauna made it a perfect cozy place to start and end the days. Jeannie added some very thoughtful and sweet touches for me and my dog. Ive already recommended it to friends and look forward to going back.

Ocean views from almost every room, spacious soaking tub, sauna… it’s like having your own little spa! It was absolutely amazing! I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Very pleasant visit

The house was immaculate. Jeannie is a very good hostess supplying us with treats, cheese and wine. She even bought a toy for our dogs. Although our visits with her personally were limited, I found her very charming. I would like to stay with her on our next visit to Newport.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Such a cute, quaint cottage. The location could not have been better. Morning walks on the beach, walk to the Bay Front or the town of Nye Beach. Such welcoming gifts when you arrive. There was a goodie basket for me as well as my dog. I loved it and will visit again.ok

Amazing in Every Way!

From the moment we walked in, I could not get over the gorgeous ocean views from the huge picture windows. I could have spent all day just staring out of them. Communication with Jeannine was great and she left so many amazing touches -fresh flowers, the yummy welcome basket and the faux fireplace were all amazing. The big soaking tub was so nice after a cold November day on the coast. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon!

Private escape

We arrived a little later than we expected however the host had made sure the lights we on and heat was comfortable. There was a welcome basket with wine crackers and cheese as well as a welcome basket with a toy and treats for our little dog. The view was amazing and the backyard was great to walk around as well as the view from the back deck. We loved the privacy and being walking distance from restaurants and shops. We highly recommend this location

This is the third time we've stayed at Jeannie and Don's wonderful beach house!

We just love this place. Exquisite special touches of flowers in each room, a basket of coffee, chocolates and other goodies (this visit we also had a large bowl of beautiful fresh strawberries awaiting us!), super-comfy bed, treats for pets, the large spa tub, the sauna.... all make this a very special place. It's also perched right above the beach with easy beach access, and is a short walk on the beach to the heart of Nye Beach area. The captain's perch couch is so unique, and the views of the beach from it are breathtaking. Our third visit in a year and a half, and we will most certainly return to this lovely sanctuary.

Beautiful and Quiet Retreat

The property was clean and beautiful, with a sauna and a big tub that made warming up easy.Beach access couldn’t be easier, as long as you can do a flight of stairs. Just down the street was a State Park with more beach access and a historic lighthouse, basically under the picturesque Newport bridge.The property owner was warm and welcoming and made sure that we were comfortable. Couldn’t ask for a better stay on the Oregon coast.

Charming couples oceanfront stay

Lovely location with ocean views and proximity to the beach in Newport. The host welcomed us with flowers in the rooms and a treat basket including snacks and wine. A side gate leads to steps down to the beach. My husband enjoyed the sauna. This was our third stay and it never disappoints.

Native Oregonian, lived in NYC in my 20's and 30's and love being back in Oregon where there is dirt for a garden, beaches and forests for exploring, inspiration for art, music and horses. I live with two Abyssinian cats, a Parson Russell terrier, and enjoy my pony and horse three miles from the beach.

I love getting the apartment ready for guests with an eye for special touches - so that upon entering, the guests will feel someone was excited about their arrival.
