About this property

Sugarloaf Golf & Beach Retreat: Quiet Nature Edition

Location, Location, Location!

Whether you're looking to spend a quiet, relaxing vacation on the Leelanau peninsula or experiencing Traverse City, the Sugarloaf Golf & Beach Retreat puts you in the middle of if all. Only four minutes to Good Harbor beach (the most Northern beach of the 38 miles of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore), ten minutes to either Glen Arbor or Leland (Historic Fishtown), fifteen minutes to Lake Leelanau and Suttons Bay and only twenty minutes to Traverse City! If you like to hike, you have found the motherland of hiking! Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park sits 30 feet from your door at the back property line! You now have over a 100 miles of hiking trails available to you in Leelanau county from 30 feet to 30 minutes away. And this does not include the 38 miles of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore shoreline that is also available to hike as well.

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is also a recognized dark sky park offering some of the best star gazing and Northern Light shows in Michigan. All photos of the Northern Lights on this page were taken from Good Harbor beach. The 2 weeks surrounding a New Moon are the best times to see them if you're considering chasing them. All photos were taking 1-2 hours after sunset.

If pedaling is your thing, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Heritage Trail parking is located at Bohemian rd, about five minutes away. If you're looking for more challenging terrain, Palmer Woods is 10 min away and provides 24 miles of Mountain biking trails. If you happen to enjoy vino, there are over 25+ different beautiful properties to experience live music, food, local wine and cider within minutes. And if you happen to enjoy both, your in luck! The Leelanau TART trail is only 20 minutes away and spans from Suttons Bay to Traverse City while crossing a variety of wine, cider, micro brew and food establishments. Most with stunning views of the rolling country side or Suttons Bay and beyond into Lake Michigan.

After you enjoy your adventures in the surrounding area, you can relax at this quiet, comfortable, freshly developed property with 2 bedrooms and an open living-dining floor plan looking out into the the peaceful woods and field beyond. There is a fully stocked kitchen with a large 72x36 butcher block island for preparing meals or coming together for drinks & snacks. A 55" TV & Wifi should keep you well connected and you have access to the stacked washer and dryer if needed. The bathroom features an easy to enter stand up tile shower and plenty of lighting. The king bed can be split into (2) singles if needed. Please let us know at time of booking otherwise it will stay as a king. Each room has its own remote control and mini-split for 3 separate climate zones.

The back yard looks out into the park and over Little Traverse lake while providing a grill, table w/umbrella and chairs to relax and get out of the sun. There is also a small fire pit when winding down after a long day of adventures.

We love our pets and they are always welcome but we also know what its like to keep things clean when they are around so there is a $50 pet cleaning fee for the extra work involved. Please use the dog run and pick up after each deposit and keep your pet on a leash any time they are not hooked up to the dog run. If your furry friend likes to cuddle up on the couch, please make sure use the couch cover we provide. Please do not leave your pet alone for any amount of time if they are anxious or barkers. There are local dog resorts and sitters available, to include us, schedule permitting. We are pet owners and also provide pet walking and sitting services and live a mile away.

While this is a very quiet, natural setting looking off into the National Park, it is situated in a country neighborhood with dogs, cats, families and children. Please drive slowly and use caution when traveling to and from property and the neighborhood entrance. Also please respect my neighbors by sticking to quiet hours from dusk to dawn.

Whatever brings you to this wonderful place we call Leelanau county, we look forward to providing you clean, quiet, comfortable setting to recharge your batteries before your next adventure!
