Cabin on the Prairie

The historic 1830s log cabin, nestled within a healing and restorative prairie setting, is thoughtfully decorated with vintage furnishings to transport visitors back in time, yet fully equipped with modern amenities for a cozy and relaxing stay. Perfect for families, couples, or “me” time, the cabin is conveniently located between the historic communities of Woodstock, IL and Lake Geneva, WI, where there is something for everyone, with shopping, dining, culture, and adventure just minutes away.

The space
The 2-story cabin features shared common rooms on the first floor, including the kitchen, bathroom with walk-in shower and open family room. The kitchen is complete with a range oven, microwave, and full-sized refrigerator. A gas grill is also available for outdoor cooking. The second floor is accessible by stairs and features a common seating area and three bedrooms accommodating two guests each. A porch with rocking chairs creates the perfect setting for viewing evening sunsets over the pond.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy amenities such as picnic areas, walking trails with shaded swings and hammocks, labyrinths, and more. Located near the entrance to the 80-acre farm, the walking path and driveway meander past an organic vegetable farm, bee keeping, and a viewing deck near the pond. A farmstand is open seasonally and Soulful Prairies merchandise is available in the farm office. And for enchanted delight, visit the experiential Fairy Forest in search of miniature mystics!

Other things to note
The cabin is equipped with heat and air conditioning for year-round enjoyment and is part of Soulful Prairies Equine Gestalt Therapy and Retreat Center. Although business clients may be present on the grounds during your stay, the farm is restful and regenerative. The nearest cabin neighbors include horses, goats, and a pig. And with the chicken coop next door, morning coffee with the hens or an occasional wild turkey sighting are not out of the question.
