Echo Lake is a peaceful and quiet lakeside community. Wave and say hello to neighbors. They are friendly!
The best way to get to the cottage is by vehicle. Once you are at the cottage swimming, kayaking, canoeing are the most fun ways to explore the lake.
- Fire Pit Rules: No daytime fires. Please remember to check the local fire rating before having any camp fires. Forest fires and fines are a real concern and the fire rating must be followed - please refer to roadside signage or the Township of the Lake of Bays website for the current fire rating. Please note, firewood and kindle are not provided on site and can be purchased by guests at gas stations and other vendors in the area.
- DO NOT flush anything but toilet paper down the toilet as the cottage uses a septic system.
- No parties or extra guests. Guests will be charged the full security deposit in the event of any parties or extra guests, regardless of any damages. Extra guests include daytime guests that don`t stay overnight. Infants in diapers do not count as extra guests.
- Smoking Rules: Guests will be charged the full security deposit in the event of any smoking in the unit, regardless of any damages.
- Garbage Disposal Rules: As is typical in cottage country, municipal garbage pickup is not provided around our lake. We kindly ask you please remember to bring garbage with you. There are local landfill sites to drop off garbage, a short drive from the cottage. They allow for up to two standard large size garbage bags and unlimited recycling to be dropped off free of charge.
As we are charged extra by our cleaners to transport and dispose of garbage that is left, there will be a $50 charge for the additional service.
- Pet Rules: We allow a maximum of one (1) pet, which must be declared in the reservation, house-trained, cannot be left unattended and must remain off all furniture. Please ensure your pup’s paws are cleaned when entering or returning to the cottage from the outside. As noted, when declaring a pet as part of a reservation booking an additional `pet fee` will be added as part of additional cleaning costs incurred by our cleaner, to maintain a safe and healthy space for future guests.
*Your reservation will be cancelled and you will be asked to leave the property without a refund if rules are broken.
NOISE BY-LAWS
Please do not break the local Noise By-Laws. You will be fined by the Municipality, have your reservation cancelled without a refund, and removed from the property if you are breaking the local Noise By-Laws. The main section of the Noise By-Laws to be mindful of are:
1) Yelling, shouting, hooting or similar noises made by a human between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. is prohibited.
2) Musical noise from a stereo, television, amplifier or musical instrument is generally prohibited at any time in residential areas. Specifically, no outside stereos or speakers please.
