With its 3 bedrooms, our apartment is the perfect place to relax with your family. The kitchen is equipped with a hob, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker, refrigerator, dishes and silverware for 8 people, as well as pots and pans. The cosy couch is a pull-out bed measuring 140 cm x 190 cm. Located in the northern part of the castle, you can find peace and quiet on your private terrace and enjoy your time here. The apartment surcharge for the first night covers the use of the apartment, final cleaning, the visitor’s tax, hand and bath towels, bed linens, and Wi-Fi. If you’ve always wanted to stay in a castle, then Pöggstall Castle—with its apartment and Imperial Suite—is just the place for you. This cultural gem, a former moated castle, dates back to the mid-13th century and has been completely renovated and modernised. Experience a holiday in a magical setting—away from the crowds. Embark on a journey of discovery through the southern Waldviertel and experience the hospitality of the local people. Culture lovers are also in good hands here! You can visit the exhibitions “Pöggstall Castle—Between Region and Imperial Court,” the Museum of Legal History (featuring a torture chamber), and the Franz Traunfellner exhibition. Take a break from everyday life—come visit us! Opening hours: April through October, Wednesdays through Sundays and on holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; ticket office closes at 4:00 p.m. A visitor’s tax of 2.60 EUR per person per night will be charged separately on site. Payment is due in advance via bank transfer. Check-in from 2:00 p.m. Check-out by 10:00 a.m. Keys are handed over contactlessly via a key safe. Pets are not allowed. Parking is available free of charge. You may park directly in front of the castle while loading and unloading. We also have an EV charging station (EVN). Meals: No meals provided. You are welcome to pre-order breakfast by 6:00 PM the day before at the restaurant “Das Rogendorf.” The hearty breakfast is served starting at 8:00 AM in the restaurant, or in the outdoor dining area if the weather permits.
