About the host
Hosted by Tamara Ashworth
Hi! I'm Tamara — entrepreneur, AI agent builder, and real estate investor based in Charleston. The Fig House on Spring is where my two passions meet: I love restoring and operating beautiful homes for travelers, and I love using technology to make hosting feel effortless and warm. Whether you're here for a wedding, a long weekend on King Street, or a working-and-wandering trip, I'll do my best to make you feel at home. P.S. — if you want to talk AI, automation, or real estate, I'm always game.
Why they chose this property
Spring Street sits in the heart of Charleston's historic Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood — one of those rare downtown pockets that still feels like a real neighborhood. You're a flat 5-minute walk to King Street's restaurants, shops, and nightlife, but the street itself stays quiet at night. Locals walk dogs, neighbors say hi, and you can hear the church bells from a block over. I chose this spot because it gives guests the best of both worlds: walk-everywhere downtown access during the day, and a peaceful porch and quiet block to come home to.
What makes this property unique
The Fig House is a fully restored historic Charleston single, with all the period character (high ceilings, hardwood floors, original mantels) but every modern comfort thoughtfully layered in: full kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, smart TVs, in-unit laundry, central AC, dedicated parking, and a private patio for morning coffee. The 3 bedrooms (King + 2 Queens) plus a queen sleeper sofa comfortably sleep 8 — perfect for two couples, a family, or a small group of friends. Self check-in via keypad, full guidebook with our favorite local spots, and quick-response messaging means your stay starts smoothly and stays that way.
