About this property

Cozy & Historic, Pet Friendly Farm Stay

Come stay in our unique and historic milk barn. Wake up to the peaceful sounds of rural life and enjoy your coffee with views of the pond while you pet one of our friendly horses. Take a stroll and visit the cows, and see the chickens free ranging, that provide the eggs that come with each stay. Enjoy the convenience of being close to town while still being able to stargaze every evening as you listen to the crickets and frogs. Perfect for unwinding and relaxing. We look forward to hosting you!

The main bedroom has a sleep number queen bed, and the sofa has a pull out queen bed as well( all linens included.) The bathroom is equipped with the basic showering supplies (soap, shampoo and conditioner) and a hair dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a propane cook stove, and oven, toaster, microwave, apartment size fridge and coffee maker/coffee grinder. Each stay includes seasonal farm fresh eggs, and fresh coffee beans. A peaceful fully fenced large outdoor area with Adirondack chairs around a gas fire pit and a propane BBQ round out the space. We allow smoking ONLY outside the home and we require you to clean up after yourselves and any paraphernalia related to smoking. If you are found to have smoked within the home we reserve the right to impose a cleaning fee of $300 and charge for any soiled/ damaged items within the home. We allow pets but have a 2 pet limit unless discussed and approved with us before renting. We ask that you clean up after your pets to sleep the property safe and clean for all animals and guests. A poop scooper and bags are provided. We offer horse/cow treats for guests to give to the animals. These are the only approved treats and they are located in a container above the fridge. We ask that you remain in the approved rental space and do not go behind fence lines to interact/touch/engage with the horses or cows. The white rope like fence is electrified and we ask that you remain on the approved side of it; if you are found beyond the fence lines you may be asked to leave. This poses a serious risk and liability to yourself and us, and by booking with us you assume all liability of being on a working farm and the inherent risks that come with it. Please not the horses and cows will be moved throughout the property and rotated between pastures and therefore may not be near the home at all times. There are also 2 working ranch dogs and therefore we request that when you are outside of the fenced area you keep your animals leashed/contained at all times. The space you are “renting” is the fully fenced yard, the entire home. The concrete area is where you can park your vehicle; there is a big space and we offer parking and room for trucks and trailers to maneuver and turn around as well. We allow early check in/late check out by request and charge a fee for this service. We offer a highchair, and pack n play for guests, and can have them set up for you upon request. We offer housekeeping of the home for longer stays upon request and charge a fee for this service. The Milk Barn is located at the base of the property and sits behind two gates; which both have auto openers on them. A gate clicker is provided to you for your stay within a lock box located at the entry of the property and is to be returned to the lockbox upon your departure. The information for this will be provided to you upon booking. The entry gate has a sign clearly stating “The Milk Barn Farm Stays” and there are signs to help guide you to the second gate and down to the home. The first home you see is the hosts home and if any major issues arise that cannot be resolved through the messages application on VRBO, you’re welcome to come to the home for help. Typically someone is always home, either Heather, or Bradley the owners, or Laura (Mother in law) who can assist. We have two young boys and we can usually be found watching them ride their quads, setting irrigation, playing in our front yard at the main home or someone nearby!

About the host

Host profile image
Originally from California, residing in Grants Pass Oregon since 2020; we love living in the “River City.” Located conveniently between the coast and the mountains, the opportunities for exploration and discovery are endless. We invite you to come and immerse yourself in the culture here; explore the wine country, the rivers, the microbreweries, the golfing communities and the wildlife!

Why they chose this property

We chose the property for the views and the potential it held to run a full blown farm. With such peaceful sounds and beautiful views we instantly fell in love with the property when we first saw it. The milk barn was pretty dilapidated and needed major renovations. We have converted the space over the last 3 years and we want you to see what we saw all along! We love the convenience of being close to town but it not feeling like you are. We love raising our boys here, and hope you’ll see what we love so much when you stay here.

What makes this property unique

A fully converted milk barn on a working farm. With animals roaming the property and mountain and valley views and close proximity to town; this home checks all the boxes.
