About this property

Furnished 1BR in NW Portland, Walkable to NW 23rd & Good Samaritan

Welcome to this beautifully furnished one-bedroom apartment in Portland's vibrant Northwest neighborhood, one of the city's most walkable, charming, and sought-after areas for extended stays. Whether you're here for a travel nursing contract, a corporate relocation, a sabbatical, or simply an extended visit to explore the city, this apartment has been designed to feel like a true home from the moment you walk in. The Neighborhood NW Portland's Alphabet District is one of those rare urban neighborhoods that has everything within a short walk. NW 21st and NW 23rd Avenues, just steps from the apartment, are lined with locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and bakeries that make daily life feel effortless and enjoyable. You'll find yourself walking to dinner, grabbing a morning coffee at a neighborhood café, and discovering something new around every corner. Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center is a short walk up NW Kearney, making this apartment an especially natural fit for traveling nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. OHSU, Providence, and other major Portland medical facilities are also accessible via public transit. The Pearl District, downtown Portland, and the broader city are all within easy reach by foot, bus, or streetcar. The Living Space The main living area is bright, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. A plush sofa and leather recliner face a wall-mounted 55" Smart TV, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Original artwork and warm lighting give the space a welcoming, residential feel, not the sterile, generic look of a typical furnished rental. Acoustic panels installed on the ceiling help keep the space quiet and peaceful. A dedicated workspace with an electric sit-to-stand desk and an ergonomic office chair sits just off the entry, separated from the living area by the room's natural layout. Whether you're logging long hours on a work-from-home setup or just need a comfortable place to check email, the desk is ready for you. The Kitchen The kitchen is a genuine highlight of this apartment. Fully renovated with white shaker cabinets, subway tile backsplash, quartz countertops, and stainless steel KitchenAid appliances, including a French door refrigerator with ice maker, gas range, and dishwasher, it's the kind of kitchen that actually makes you want to cook. The island seats two, making it a natural gathering spot for morning coffee or a casual meal. Everything you need for everyday cooking is stocked and ready: cookware, baking dishes, dinnerware, glassware, flatware, and a coffee maker. The Bedroom The bedroom is a calm, restful retreat. A premium queen mattress with luxury bedding, accent pillows, and a cozy throw make the bed the centerpiece it should be. Neutral linen blackout curtains block light completely, essential for healthcare workers on rotating shifts. A decorative acoustic panel on the headboard wall adds both a design element and meaningful sound absorption. Floating wall-mounted nightstands with built-in charging stations sit on either side of the bed. The walk-in closet includes a full hanging rod, ample hangers, and a five-drawer fabric dresser for extended-stay storage. The Bathroom The bathroom has been fully renovated with arabesque tile wainscoting, a quartz vanity, and modern fixtures. Fresh white towels, a bath mat, and open shelving keep everything organized and accessible. Work From Home Ready This apartment was specifically designed with remote workers and traveling professionals in mind. The electric sit-to-stand desk, ergonomic office chair, high-speed WiFi, and 55" Smart TV give you everything you need to be productive and comfortable throughout your stay. Comfort & Quiet The apartment includes a Daikin mini-split air conditioning and heating system for year-round climate control. Acoustic panels on the living room ceiling and bedroom headboard wall provide meaningful sound dampening for a quieter, more restful environment, particularly appreciated by healthcare workers who need quality sleep between shifts. Getting Around The apartment's location makes getting around Portland genuinely easy without a car. Several TriMet bus lines run nearby, the Portland Streetcar NS Line is a short walk away, and MAX light rail connections are easily accessible. Uber and Lyft are readily available throughout the neighborhood. Street parking is available in the surrounding residential permit district for those who do have a vehicle. A Note on the Space This apartment is located on the lower level of a well-maintained residential home in a quiet NW Portland neighborhood. Guests have a completely private entrance, private living space, and full use of all apartment amenities. The backyard and outdoor areas of the main property are not shared. Some ambient sound from the upper unit is possible, though the apartment's acoustic treatment meaningfully reduces this.
We've put a great deal of care into furnishing and equipping this space, and we hope it shows. Our goal is simple: to give you a comfortable, beautiful, fully equipped home that makes your time in Portland feel easy and enjoyable, whatever brings you here.

About the host

Hi, I'm Melissa! I created this space with traveling professionals in mind, people who need a real home base, not just a place to sleep. Whether you're on a work assignment, a medical rotation, or simply working remotely for a stretch, I know that your environment matters when you're away from home.

Every detail in this unit was chosen with care. The kitchen was a labor of love, quartz counters, farmhouse sink, KitchenAid appliances, gas range, and under-cabinet lighting, because I believe a great kitchen makes any stay feel more like home. The bathroom tile, the bedroom lighting, the workspace setup, all of it was designed to feel elevated without being fussy.

I believe the best hosting is mostly invisible. I'm here if you need anything and responsive when you reach out, but I respect your space, your schedule, and your privacy. You won't hear from me unless you want to.

I live nearby and know Portland's NW Alphabet District well. You're steps from some of the best restaurants, coffee shops, and walkable neighborhoods the city has to offer, and I'm always happy to share recommendations if you want them.

My goal is simple to have you walk in, exhale, and feel like you can settle in for the long haul. I hope this space delivers that for you.

Why they chose this property

I chose the NW Alphabet District because it's one of those rare neighborhoods that feels like a genuine community while still being steps from everything Portland does best. The food scene alone is reason enough. Bantam Tavern and Serrato are practically neighbors, Laughing Planet makes for quick, delicious and reasonably healthy food. A Trader Joes and a New Seasons nearby, and NW 23rd is just two blocks away with its mix of boutiques, cafes, and restaurants that somehow never gets old.

What I love most is that it doesn't feel like a city neighborhood, it feels like a village that happens to be in a city. Tree-lined streets, beautiful old homes, friendly locals, and the kind of walkability where you genuinely don't need your car for days at a time. If you want the energy of Portland without the chaos, this is the sweet spot.

What makes this property unique

Most furnished rentals feel like furnished rentals. This one doesn't. From the moment you walk in, the level of finish is different, this is a space that was designed, not just assembled.

The kitchen is the centerpiece. Full quartz countertops, a farmhouse sink, KitchenAid appliances, gas range, subway tile backsplash, and pendant lighting over an island with seating — it's the kind of kitchen that makes you actually want to cook. For someone staying a month or more, that matters more than people realize.

The bathroom carries the same attention to detail - custom tile work, a good size vanity with storage, and finishes that feel boutique rather than builder-grade.

Beyond the finishes, the unit is set up specifically for the way traveling professionals actually live. There's a full standing desk with an ergonomic chair for focused work, fast WiFi, a 55" TV for downtime, and enough seating to actually have a guest over. Everything is included, utilities, WiFi, linens, kitchen essentials, so you can arrive with a suitcase and be fully settled within the hour.

It's a basement unit, but it doesn't feel like one. Recessed lighting throughout, high ceilings, a daylight window in the bedroom (along with blackout curtains when you don't want the light), and thoughtful design choices make it feel warm and grounded rather than dark or cramped.
