For special occasions I like to find unique places to stay, preferably in the woods with trails and trout streams nearby and pet-friendly. Fern Hollow Cabin was that and much more. The historic 1853 cabin had so many stories to tell and Daniel filled us in on some of them, and Liz documented her family connection to it. It’s close to Decorah and has lots of trails right outside the door. We highly recommend it if you want to unplug and spend a couple of organic days in a beautiful setting.
