About the host
Hosted by Amanda Krigner
We’re native Michiganders who have always loved spending time Up North. Some of our favorite memories are centered around the water—long summer days outside, quiet mornings on the lake, and evenings around the fire.
We also love traveling with our dog and know how important it is to find places where the whole family can come along. That was a big part of the vision for The Monarch—creating a space that feels easy, comfortable, and welcoming for both people and pets.
Our goal is simple: provide a place where guests can enjoy the same kind of Up North experience we’ve always appreciated—time outside, time on the water, and a setting that makes it easy to relax and spend time together.

Why they chose this property
The Monarch stands out for how close the lake is to the home. With the shoreline and dock just steps away (about 15 feet), it’s easy to move between relaxing indoors and being on the water without planning around it.
The setup is designed to keep everything accessible - whether that’s swimming from the shallow-entry shoreline, using the provided kayaks and boats, or spending time outside by the fire pit. The combination of direct lake access, a quiet setting, and indoor/outdoor flow makes the experience straightforward and enjoyable.
