A conscious retreat overlooking the Delaware River
We're new to VRBO! After living in this home full time for the last few years, we've moved away for a job opportunity. We love this special place and would love to share it with others looking for some creative escape.
THE PLACE Behling Cottage has three bedrooms, two dedicated workspaces, and a daybed with a view—ideal for snoozing in the sun. Unplug. Turn the record player on and enjoy a few easy, analog days.
You can expect: - A fully equipped kitchen and a six-seat dining table - Two full-bathrooms, one on each floor - Wifi! TV! - Central heating and air conditioning - A pellet-burning stove for ambiance without a fuss - A large back deck and patio with an outdoor fire pit - A focus on sustainability—compost bin, creative repurposing
THE SETTING Truly a treehouse. Tucked away up a hill, but connected to all the essentials. Read: river access, adorable shops, nearby restaurants, and convenient grocery.
We're located between the Catskills and Poconos in the Upper Delaware River Valley. About 2.5 hours from NYC and 3.5 from Philly.
The home sits on a row of five former guest cottages of the historic Peggy Runway Resort. While the other houses sit nearby, the space feels private, especially once you step inside and settle in.
We're on a narrow, one-lane road, steep in some places. Having confident driving skills helps to navigate this shared space.
Expect rolling hills, fresh air, and a small river-town vibe.

Hello! When not bringing creative and sustainable cottage renovations to life at this home, I hang out in the Midwest helping government technology work better for the people who use it.
Why they chose this property
Our home is walking distance from the narrowest part of the Delaware River. This small gap (thus Narrowsburg) then opens up to a large 100ft eddy, where the river widens so much it looks and feels like a lake. Just magical! Walk down and enjoy a soak!
