Clean and pet friendly. Also loved the extra beach towels you provided as I brought my own but having the extra was so sweet! We had a blast and what a great location!
My husband, our two kids, our dog, and I stayed in this rental for three nights. The house was clean, charming, and well maintained. It is not located on the river, but that was expected since it is neither advertised nor priced as a riverfront property. The home is small, but it felt very comfortable for our family of four. It could accommodate six, though that would be a tighter fit given the two bedrooms and single bathroom. The neighborhood is not upscale, but we felt safe throughout our stay. The park with river access was about a 10-minute walk away, and we went there every day. Mornings were quiet, though it became quite crowded on Friday evening. The house is also very close to a Winn-Dixie, which was convenient, and it is near tubing access as well. Everything in the home seemed brand new, and the owners clearly put thought into anticipating guests’ needs. Our kids especially enjoyed the mini game room in the garage and feeding treats to the neighborhood cats on our walks to the river. The owner communicated regularly, answered my questions, and shared helpful advice, including recommending that we reserve Rainbow River State Park tickets before arriving. She also checked in with us during our stay. Overall, I highly recommend the Otter House for a simple and enjoyable Rainbow River getaway.
The house seemed to be somewhat clean everything was decorated nicely . We basically only slept in the house and during the day we enjoyed the river. After checking out I received a cleaning fee for 50 . I messaged the host to ask what the fee was for and she replied it was for our dog leaving hair on the chairs . This issue was not resolved between the host and the Vrbo rep, so below I’m going to leave the pros and cons . Pros Location is close to river but not on it ! Grocery stores are near Cons -The location on the map doesn’t match the physical location of where you are going to stay. Do your research before booking !Vrbo is aware of this. I believe the host has two houses and the other is the mark on the map they are using . This is what originally drew me to the property. -The outside is outdated and smelt like insect killer, concrete is cracked and has spots that are not level. -The surrounding houses are very run down and look a little sketchy -The flooring near the Tv is not level and will move when walked on.-The famous blue chairs are wobbly and feel weak.- The listing is for 6 but 4 would be the most I would house .-Pictures look better in the listing than what it actually is .-Be very weary of bringing pets they will try to charge you 50 cleaning fee after check out if they find hair on furniture. Supposedly there is a small box to check during the booking that I didn’t see. It is not on the listing . There are better listings for the same price

Thank you for your review. We're glad you found the home clean, enjoyed the decor, and appreciated the proximity to the river and local amenities.
For future guests, we would like to clarify a few points. Our listing clearly states that the home is located near the river and includes access through a private river park. The property is not advertised as being directly on the riverfront. Vacation rental platforms typically display only an approximate map location prior to booking for privacy and security reasons.
Regarding the pet fee, our listing discloses a $50 pet fee. Because a pet was brought to the property without being added to the reservation the fee was requested after checkout after pet hair was found on furnishings. This is a standard disclosed fee.
We would also like to note that we accommodated your request to have additional visitors for a birthday gathering without charging any additional guest or event fees. We were happy to provide that as a courtesy.
We respectfully disagree with comments regarding the property's condition. The furniture throughout the home is new, and we continuously maintain and improve the home for our guest comfort. While neighboring homes in established river communities vary in appearance, the area is a popular and safe for visitors seeking access to Rainbow Springs, tubing and kayaking.
We appreciate all feedback and remain committed to providing a clean, accurately represented, and enjoyable experience for our guest.
