With over 100 'beachfront' condos at North Coast Village (NCV) to choose from, it can be overwhelming. Here are a few tips for your consideration:
There are total 7 building groups from A to G. Each group is composed of a main 3/4 story building and 2-story cottages in front of the main building. Group A is standing alone from the other 6 groups separated by Breakwater Way. Entire NCV is beachfront. B and G just off Pacific Street are furthest from the ocean on the east end of the village. D and E are closest to the ocean on the west end of the village. C and F are sandwiched in between.
Location, location, and location:
Views: While the entire NCV is beachfront, the term 'ocean view' means day and night difference depending on the specific location of the unit.
Does west facing (like some D, E cottages) have the more desirable ocean view? Maybe. That is if you can handle the long hours of blinding sun glare in the PM. And it is totally dark during night time.
North facing units (odd number units) . Some have Oceanside Harbor and ocean view ( E, F, and some G units) and some have pool/garden views (D, C, and some B). In the winter, sun light may be a problem if you like the warmth of direct sun light in winter.
South facing units (even number units). Some have Oceanside Pier and ocean view (D, C, and some B) and some have pool/garden views(E, F, and some G). In the winter, direct sun light exposure is a big draw.
Noise and privacy can be a problem for units by the pool and walking paths. Street or train track noise can be a problem for some east facing units.
The best views are offered by units at higher floors and furthest to the west. That means the third floor units in D and E building.
The 3rd floor even number units in D building offer unobstructed ocean views to the southwest. D306 is one of the few in this exclusive locale. The 3rd floor odd number units in E building offer unobstructed harbor views to the north.

D306 is a 2-floor penthouse:
lower level - kitchen, living room, secondary bed room, a full bath room, and a balcony;
upper level - master suite with a large balcony occupies the entire upper level.
In the summer, you get to enjoy the summer breeze without the blinding sun glare. In the winter, you get the sun light strolling into your living area to warm your body and soul. And you get to appreciate the ambiance of sun setting into the southwestern sea with a glass of champagne right from the comfort of your own balconies.
The master retreat occupies the entire upper level, looking out to an expansive ocean-view balcony. Pelicans fly by daily. Thus we name the condo 'Pelican Watch Penthouse'. It is comfortably furnished for up to 6 guests. Master retreat has a king bed. The other bed room has two full size beds. Therefore the secondary bed room may sleep up to four people. Thus you may have the convenience of leaving the living room free from sleeping arrangement. In case that it works better for you, the sleeper sofa in the living room is queen size.
Both bed rooms are totally enclosed with doors for privacy. Please be aware that some other units still have loft-style master bed rooms where privacy might be an issue at times.
The condo is well equipped for beach vacation. Both bedrooms have flat screen TV, so does the living room. All three TVs are wired to Cox cable TV with most popular channels. The condo includes Cox wireless WiFi internet.
There are two nice beach chairs. Six large beach towels are furnished for your enjoyment. Generous towels and supplies are provided. Additionally, there are lounge chairs and tables in the court yard community pool area.
This gorgeous setting has magnificent, unobstructed ocean and sand views. The condo has many upgrades, including granite counters, 3 flat screen TVs, and comes with 1 assigned parking space. The living room TV is a Roku powered smart TV which permits streaming from your own accounts.
