Since the summer of 2016, the doors of the former captain’s house have been open to holidaymakers from near and far. The detached holiday home is located right on the spa promenade, between the idyllic North Sea spa town of Carolinensiel and the North Sea beach at Harlesiel.

Spanning three floors and offering over 90 m² of living space, this light-filled house provides ample room for 4 people. The Captain’s House at the Friedrichsschleuse is the perfect holiday home for guests looking for that special something.
The living area features real wood parquet flooring and includes a cosy couch area with a flat-screen TV, white country-style furniture, a dining area for four people, and a freestanding fireplace.
The well-insulated upper floor features two spacious bedrooms and a separate bathroom. The master bedroom, with real wood parquet flooring and a view of the Harle, features a comfortable double bed, a cot, and plenty of storage space in the custom-built closet. The second bedroom is equipped with twin beds and a TV.
Both the ground floor and the basement feature state-of-the-art wellness bathrooms with high-quality amenities and natural light: walk-in rain showers, towel warmers, and underfloor heating, as well as an infrared sauna for soothing warmth after a day at the beach.
The kitchen in the Kapitänshaus is fully equipped and provides not only dishes, silverware, and numerous appliances—such as a toaster, egg cooker, coffee makers (filter & capsule), and microwave—but also a basic supply of coffee, tea, and spices. A brand-new kitchen will be installed in fall 2022.
From the kitchen, you can step out onto the spacious terrace of the Kapitänshaus. Whether you’re having breakfast here, sunbathing on a lounge chair, or watching the sunset from a beach chair while sipping a glass of wine. Here you’ll find a place to simply unwind.
Additionally, another beach chair is available in front of the house. Pure relaxation with a direct view of the historic drawbridge and the boat traffic on the Harle.

Whether you’re a water sports enthusiast, hiker, cyclist, or simply a nature lover, you’ll find your own personal holiday paradise here. The Kapitänshaus is located between Carolinensiel and Harlesiel at the Friedrichsschleuse, right next to the North Sea. A bakery and two seafood restaurants (open seasonally) are right nearby. The “Cliner Quelle” swimming pool and spa centre is a 5-minute walk away. You’ll find a wide variety of shopping options in Carolinensiel, about a 10-minute walk away.
