About this property

Cozy Retreat in Fredericksburg - Two Homes Perfect for Large Groups

Take a step back in time to Old World Fredericksburg, Texas with a stay at the Travis Street estate, on the corner of Travis and Schubert. The estate's accommodations feature a restored two-bedroom historic home with a living room and kitchen, in addition to private stand-alone cottage behind the main house.

Use the Travis House and the Travis Cottage to unwind in privacy with all the amenities the properties have to offer. When it's time to turn in, sink into a king-size bed featuring high-end linens, feather pillows and duvet. A light, unhosted breakfast is included in your stay.

If fun is what you're after, take advantage of the short four block walk to the heart of Main Street, which features galleries, amazing restaurants and bistros, antique shops and wine tasting. Speaking of wine, book a private tour of Hill Country wineries, and see why it's one of the most visited wine regions in the country.

The properties can serve as a romantic destination for couple's getaways or a memorable weekend for a group (4-6 people) of friends looking for a fun reunion.

Things to Know:

The space was perfect for our group. The married couple stayed in the cottage and the single women stayed in the house. We all found the house fascinating because it’s “original” but brought up to date. It’s furnished with antiques and we all loved it. The management was great and it was spotlessly clean. Would stay there again.

Travis Street Property

unable to get into house. the lockbox was broken and we had to use a knife to get in but property maintanance showed up quickly. No curtains in house - only half curtains but people could see in especially if tall person in house. Cobwebs in window corners, bath tub in house was nasty with rust and needs to be refinished, shower with rain shower head only so hair gets wet and shower very small so no way to get away from rain head spraying on your head/hair. We were unable to get the tv to work, the house next door was a dump literally with lots of trash in the yard and driveway, the snacks tasted awfully as the dates were expired. For the amount of money for this house, it was not up to par. The small guest cottage was better. I think we should get some kind of refund.

Thank you for your review, Elizabeth. We are sorry to hear that this was your experience while staying with us. We provided your feedback to the local staff and they were able to confirm that both showers do have the head directly in the middle, this is to water running out of the tub. The dining and living rooms do half curtains which a lot of homes with these style of windows do have in our area. The bedrooms have full curtains. The neighbor's house does have some trash and boxes next to Travis House's driveway and can be seen from half of the property. While we understand that this does not correct the issues we hope that the compensation that you were provided helps relieve some of the inconvenience that you experienced. We hope to have an opportunity to host and impress you in the future.

This cottage and the separate cottage were a perfect fit for a Fredericksburg. They were well decorated and the beds were extremely comfortable. The location was also ideal. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location and perfect for 3 couples Loved being able to walk down to Main Street where all the restaurants and shopping are. It's hard to find three king beds with 3 bathrooms for reasonable price.

This house has it all! You'll love it!!

I just stayed here for 3 nights with 2 high school friends. We appreciated every aspect of this lovely home--the cushy leather couches in the living room, the yummy coffee cake (not to mention coffee, milk, juice, cereal & popcorn) waiting for us when we arrived, the lovely big table to us to sit around and chat, the comfortable beds, the cleanliness and little soaps and lotions, and the ambiance of an older home with all the modern conveniences. We loved that we each had our own bedroom and bathroom (we had the house and the casita in back). Perfect location near Main Street. Vacasa folks were excellent about being in touch ahead of our stay, checking in during the stay and giving us excellent recommendations for places to eat and see. Highly recommend this lovely old home and the Vacasa staff and service in Fredericksburg. You won't be disappointed.
