Oak Cabin is a stylish private Bachelor(ette) cabin. It`s located on a property with 4 fully private cabins on a large treed lot, a comfortable distance apart. Each cabin has its own fire pit and BBQ. Just 2 min from the sweet cottage town of Dorset, swimming and restaurants. Walk to the Scenic Tower! 30 min to Algonquin Park & Arrowhead. Snowmobile or ATV trails accessible right from your doorstep. Activities for every season or a relaxing break from the chaos of city, you pick!
Your cabin along with the BBQ and firepit are for your private use. There are no shared amenities.
I live on site but respect your privacy and will leave you on your own unless you require assistance or have questions I have a friendly Bernadoodle named Kumawho roams free on the property.
We`re right in the heart of cottage country in the sweet little village of Dorset. 2 minutes drive to groceries, LCBO restaurants and several lakes for swimming and fishing. Walk from your cabin the the Scenic Tower lookout! We are right off the snowmobile trail and ATV trails are very close by as well.
Parking is free on-site and in town.
There is Wi-Fi on the property that can be accessed. However, as we are in a wooded area you shouldn’t expect it to be a smooth at in a city. First and foremost we want you to enjoy your stay in this magical neck of the woods! However, we do have some rules.
No smoking in the cabins and butts must be put into a container. Smoke what you want just do it under the big blue sky. There is a $200 cleaning fee for smoking in the cabin.
No wax candles.
If you show up with more than 2 guests or a pet, your reservation will be canceled immediately.
You are responsible for washing your dishes and cleaning the BBQ after use. If things got messy while cooking, dining, or spills in the fridge, please give surfaces a wipe down. Your help allows us to keep the cabin prices a bit lower by eliminating a cleaning fee!
We ask that guests keep noise to a minimum after 10pm out of respect for the squirrels (and other guests and neighbours).
Please DO NOT leave any garbage out at night as it will attract racoons, bears and other nighttime opportunists.
You are responsible for taking your garbage to the local dump on the way out of town as we do not have garbage pick up here. It is aprox. 1 km away and a lovely drive in. If you`re lucky you may even see some bears!
Campfires are permitted from 7pm from April until November and anytime during the Winter You can purchase firewood at Robinson`s General Store here in Dorset or many places along the way. Your fire is to be attended at all times and must be doused with water before retiring for the evening. please be sure to bring in all food items at night so animals are not attracted to the site.
Please don`t feed the dog!
