About this property

Parry Sound Maple Lake Ontario

Summary:

This newly-built executive-style cottage sits majestically on a rock outcropping overlooking a quiet and secluded bay on Maple Lake. There is plenty of room for your family, with two bedrooms on the main floor and a master retreat on the second floor, with private balcony. The kitchen, dining and living rooms flow together and provide a spectacular view of the lake. A large, afternoon sun-drenched deck is accessible through sliding doors from the dining room. Off the kitchen is a breakfast room that is fully screened to take advantage of cool breezes on warm summer days. The living room has a propane fireplace to warm body and soul in the colder weather.

The cottage is furnished in a casual but elegant style, with plenty of seating and hardwood floors throughout. There are two stools at the kitchen island, four comfortable chairs at the dining table, seating for six in the breakfast room and a large sofa and two easy chairs in the living room. On the main floor, one bedroom offers a double bed, the other has twin bunks, and a four-piece bathroom is nearby. The master bedroom retreat on the upper level offers a queen-size bed. The balcony, accessed through sliding glass doors, overlooks the deck below and provides a wonderful view of the lake. The elegant three-piece bathroom completes the upper level.

On the lower level of the cottage, accessed from outside, there is a four-person sauna and shower.

A staircase leads from the deck level to the dock, which is large enough for a 16 ft boat. A ladder is provided. For non-swimmers there is a shallow-water entry to the right of the dock. To explore Maple Lake and the adjoining Duck Lake, take the canoe, or go out in the paddleboat for a lazy sightseeing tour. Sea-doo's are not allowed on the lake. Trout, bass and perch inhabit the lake if you like to fish. An outdoor firepit is available for roasting marshmallows.

Within walking distance of the cottage, in the small village of Orrville, there is a general store complete with LCBO and a bakery/bistro, in case you forget or run out of something. Also in Orrville is a community centre that houses a library for those rainy day books. A short distance from the cottage is a public sandy beach with a set of swings for the children.

Three golf courses are located within 20 minutes of the cottage. Also close by are the 30 Thousand Islands Boat Cruise, The Charles Stockey Centre for Performing Arts, The Festival of the Sound that runs for three weeks in July/August, The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, and the historical Sequin Trail, only a 15 walk from the cottage. The village of Orrville, with an LCBO, convenience and Bakery & Bistro is a casual 10 minute walk. Fine dining can be experienced at the nearby five-star Log Cabin Restaurant.
