▶ Property Layout & Boundaries: The nearly 4-acre property contains two separate vacation rentals that are privately situated, not visible to one another, and do not share amenities or guest spaces. The only shared area is the main driveway entrance.
Although the property feels secluded, neighboring private properties surround the area. Please remain within the guest areas included with your rental and avoid entering neighboring property or private storage, maintenance, and equipment areas.
▶ Local Hosts: The hosts reside on the property in a separate area that is not visible from either rental. You may occasionally see us maintaining the grounds or nearby trails, but guest privacy is important to us and there is no need to interact unless you wish to. As longtime local residents, we're always happy to share recommendations, favorite hikes, dining suggestions, and hidden gems to help you make the most of your Olympic Peninsula visit.
▶ Quiet Hours: This is a peaceful forest setting where sound can carry surprisingly far. To be respectful of neighboring properties and comply with local regulations, quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please keep voices, music, and outdoor activities at a reasonable volume during these hours.
▶ Wildlife & Nature: We are surrounded by native forest and wildlife. Deer, birds, rabbits, squirrels, and other animals are commonly seen around the property. Please enjoy wildlife from a respectful distance and do not approach or feed animals.
To help keep wildlife wild, do not leave food, beverages, coolers containing food, or scented items outdoors, in backpacks, or in your vehicle. Even small items such as a wrapped granola bar can attract wildlife. A cooler containing only sealed, unopened beverages may be left on the covered porch.
As with any forest environment, insects occasionally find their way indoors. We perform regular inspections and pest control, but you may occasionally spot an insect during your stay.
▶ Sustainable Features & Backup Power: ● We use eco-friendly cleaning products to help maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally conscious space.
● Backup generator for added peace of mind during occasional mountain power outages.
▶ Firewood & Propane: Your first firewood bundle and first propane tank for the firepit (if under burn bans) are included with your stay. Additional firewood and propane may be purchased from us or obtained locally.

About the host
Hosted by Robin Ramon
I was born and raised on the Olympic Peninsula with 6 generations of family rooted here - many local roads are named after relatives! My great grandfather emigrated here from Hoyland, Norway in 1891 inspiring the name “Hoyland” Retreats. One of my favorite pastimes is harvesting edible plants and beach combing for unique treasures. We love helping guests plan adventures and sharing our favorite hikes, beaches, and hidden spots around the Peninsula. The Olympic Peninsula is truly a special place.
Why they chose this property
Willie and Robin bought the property in 1999. It was just undeveloped, forested land, but perfect for the mountain home they wanted. They had a vision for the property and wanted to save as many trees as possible. Trees along the borders of the property, as well as a middle forest, were kept in place. Felled trees were pulled to where the present main house is located. Most of the timber was sold, but some of the logs were used for siding the house and constructing the posts for the porch.
