About the host
Hosted by Currituck Cottage Hosting Team
I’ve lived in NC & VA much of my life and I raised my family in a large NC city, but we love the slower pace of Grandy and OBX. We spend our mornings and evenings on the deck or in the sunroom watching the sky change colors with the sunrise and the moon rise, and we watch the osprey who return in mid-March and raise their families. We see lots of different waterfowl, such as duck, geese, heron, swans, as well as otters, turtles, fish and the occasional deer. At The Currituck Cottage, we enjoy sharing that peace and tranquility with others.
Why they chose this property
My grandparents built this home when I was a young kid and the area was first developed. This land is a former potato field and my uncle says we would dig up potatoes for years after the house was built. It’s quiet and surrounded by wildlife, but it’s also close to the VA line and only 14 miles from the Wright Memorial Bridge. We can visit and play in Va Beach or OBX and still have the peace and quiet of home. Nearby we enjoy visiting Sanctuary Vineyards, Buffalo City, H2OBX Waterslides, Kitty Hawk Kites (which operates hang gliding a few miles away), Currituck BBQ, Wiseguys Pies and more.
What makes this property unique
The Currituck Cottage has an incomparable view of big water. From the moment you walk in the front door, you escape the rush of daily life and can enjoy an oasis of peace and tranquility with all the comforts of home.
