Great cabin! Communication was great, very quick responses from the host. Every piece of furniture in the cabin was very comfortable. It was a very peaceful, relaxing weekend and we plan to go back soon! The entire cabin was very clean, the kitchen had all of the essentials and the hot tub was very nice.
We loved the cabin. Ideal location , minutes to Chimney Rock and the beach, grocery store and restaurants. The cabin was very comfortable with a good set up for more than one family. We especially enjoyed evenings on the deck for dinner and kids enjoyed hiking through the woods, and the corn hole game in the yard. Nice private and very quiet location.
Great property! Plenty of room for everyone! The only bad part was lake lure does not open the swimming area till memorial day weekend and thats the whole readon i choose that house was to go to the lake so just che k on the places you want to visit
Our group of eight, including family and friends had a wonderful stay. The cabin is very comfortable with enough space for 3 families to spread out. Living room is large enough for us all to hang out and watch a game. The outside area was great for the kids and the dogs to play. The house was immaculate and minutes from town. Great trip!
We had the best time here and hate that we did not get to spend more time in the house. It had everything we needed and beds were very comfortable. Owner was very responsive and accommodating throughout booking and during our stay. We had no issues and would happily return to this property to actually use it. We were in town for a wedding and several members of our party were in the wedding so we were running back and forth to the venue quite a bit but this would be a great house for a Lake Lure adventure! Highly recommend!
The property was very nice and located in a gated community. Wanted to let the property owners know that the right window next to the fireplace does not shut all the way, allowing air to get in. The only negative thing was the mattresses in the loft area and bunk beds were uncomfortable and hurt my friends backs.
We loved the property and would stay again!

Thank you! Window fixed. The mattresses are semi firm. Some people love them, and some don't. Appreciate you taking the time to review.

Such a beautiful place to stay! Almost perfect.
With 5 adults and a couple of kids...everyone had a bed and a good place to hang their hat. The appliances are not working well...especially the dryer. I would suggest the cleaner use a steamer on the hardwood floors...with a baby I had to clean them by hand. Overall, a little cleaning didn't dampen our stay. The house was in a perfect place, close to all our needs. We had a blast and would go back!

Happy yall had a good time! We did replace the stackable washer and dryer. The dryer took forever. The new one can wash a larger load and dries quickly
The cabin was nice, it was clean and the kitchen was well stocked. I only gave it three stars because both beds in the bedrooms were uncomfortable, they sink in the middle. And the owners don't respond to messages in a timely manner either. Other than that the view is beautiful and peaceful.
Pro,s .. very nice house/cabin. Secluded in woods close to chimney rock and lake lure .. nice dec & a hot tub to relax in. Cons …. Had to get internet hooked up. .. no screens on windows to get fresh air. Chair had bad smell & beds sunk to the middle.

Very sad about this review. Our fiber optic Spectrum wifi went out. Guest called. I called Spectrum at 2pm. They came the next morning. I offered the guest my T Mobile tower for wifi.he said he did not need it.
The guest vompalined about needing more coat hangers, offered to bring some, he declined.
The chair mentioned , was left filthy and had to be replaced.
Comfortable and reasonably well-equipped property. Wrap-around deck a plus. Good location, quiet and secluded, surrounded by forest. Excellent access to Lake Lure and to local grocer. Original access information to property was inaccurate (compassionate neighbor gave us a gate code that worked). Instructions for TV and DVD were inadequate. Not even one additional roll of TP in the house??

Thanks for taking the time to review! Glad you enjoyed it. As stated on our listing and on check in info we supply starter paper products for all the bathrooms, kitchen etc. Not certain what happened with the gate. I am always available by phone and did not here from you. The gate is a simple 4 digit access and we have never had a problem with it. The tv remote is labeled for satellite use. We do not have directions for the DVD player with a DVD remote. Thanks again.
Working retreat - beautiful quiet area - felt safe - spotless
Everything was perfect except internet access. Cabin was spotless and had all the necessities of home! Cabin has 3 levels. I only used main level but plenty of room if you have several guests. Loved the whippoorwhills at night and owls in the morning. It was great for my yorkie as the wraparound porch is gated so I didn't have to worry about him running off. The Lake House Restaurant was my goto for take out dinner. Delicious hamburgers and steaks. The listing said cabin had WIFI but I should have asked to what extent. My mistake. I thought I was prepared in case it wasn't adequate by bringing a device to setup a hotspot but it had issues connecting too (Verizon). As long as you won't rely on WIFI PERFECT CHOICE!

Absolutely Lovely
The cabin is located just outside the hub-bub of 'town', conveniently located near the grocery store/pharmacy (Ingles is a GREAT store) and gas station. The cabin itself was beautifully maintained and very clean. Everything was easy to find and had all the kitchen essentials. Plenty of towels were provided and the washer/dryer downstairs was so convenient. The only issue we had was getting the TVs set up as they were unplugged when we got there. No big deal as we didn't watch them too much. Great communication with the housekeeper who was very sweet. Our older lab came with us and managed quite well. She stayed on the main floor of the house for the most part as the stairs inside were a bit steep for her. The wrap around porch was lovely to sit on and have coffee in the morning or wine in the evening.
We are thinking of coming up in the winter and staying here again. Loved it!
We got there and it was fine, except there was a cleaning fee we found out about that was not once mentioned on the booking page or description. The amount of money they charge for a cleaning fee doesn’t show in the cabin. It smelled old, the bathroom would clog up all the time and it the water showed up in the kitchen sink, and the utensils were dirty. We cleaned the entire cabin and left it better then when we arrived just for them to charge us $150 extra. I would definitely not recommend.

The housekeeping fee for this cabin is $150. It is on the listing and the rental agreement you signed prior to arrival. Every vacation rental has a housekeeping fee. Your group of 10 stayed for Christmas week and the cabin was definitely not left in great shape. The housekeeping fee goes to the housekeeper to clean all the linens, the entire cabin and remove all the garbage and food you all left behind. The cabin is new and it is a log cabin. It does smell like wood. The toilets were checked and were found to be working just fine. There are no bathrooms or plumbing above the kitchen nor was there any water found in the sink. We added new utensils before your stay as you were a large group and we wanted to make sure the cabin had enough supplies for the holiday. It is unfortunate that your group of 10 expected housekeeping to clean after your week long stay and not be paid.

My family enjoyed our time at Lake Lure. There's a lot to see and adventures to experience. Be sure to hike the Chimney, rent a boat for the day and relax on the rocks while the current washes over your feet in Riverwalk Village. The Flowering Bridge and nearby park are a must see as well.
The cabin accommodated our needs with a nice big yard, fully equipped kitchen, cable, washer and dryer and a closed in wrap around porch. It's also close to town and the Ingles grocery store. My only feedback would be to add a dresser to the sleeping areas so there is a place to put clothing and to update some of the appliances. Making coffee in the morning was a bit tricky with the letters rubbed off as was measuring out the proper amount of food with the measuring cups. I also wish the bat poo had been cleaned off the patio furniture from the family that sleeps on the roof. We just avoided that area all together to be safe. Otherwise, we were comfortable and would stay again.

Thanks for the review. We do not have a dresser but the larhe closet has shelves on each side in addition to the hanging bar with hangers. Sorry about the bat family. They do not stay long and have since left the roof. It does happen sometimes in the mountains. I checked the coffee pot and the small Keurig are working fine. Will replace the measuring cup. Thanks for the input!

I see there has been a lot of past confusion about an undisclosed cleaning fee. We received an email welcoming us to the cabin and were very surprised to see that there was an additional $170 cleaning fee.
I decided to do some research to understand what was happening. I will not speculate as to why this fee was not disclosed but I urge the hosts to correct this by following these instructions:
Excerpt from help article(first bullet):
Manage your fees
Fees can be applied to all dates on your rates calendar. There are two types of fees:
• Standard: fees for extra guests, cleaning, and pets.
• Custom: fees defined by your business that are not covered in standard fees.
To add or edit fees:
1. Log in to your account.
2. Select the listing if you have more than one rental property.
3. Select Calendar.
4. Select Settings, then Fees.
5. Under Standard Fees, select up to three appropriate fees.
6. Select Fee type.
7. Enter amount.
8. Add custom fees details, if needed. You can select up to 3 custom fees.
9. Once all the required information is entered, select Save.
Thank you and I hope this helps clear things up for both the guests (so they know what they’re paying) and the hosts so they can ensure all expenses are covered.

As our listing details, as well as the rental agreement, the housekeeping fee is not collected prior to arrival . If collected prior to arrival Vrbo adds 13% to it.
We do hope you and yoir group enjoyed your stay and the beautiful color season we had.
Thank you
