Escape to our rustic retreat in the Black Hills! This private upper-level space is a cozy home away from home for couples, professionals, or small families. Enjoy a bright, western-inspired design with a fully equipped kitchen and a dedicated workspace. Perfectly located for exploring Rapid City, Deadwood, and Custer, offering a peaceful basecamp for your adventures.

We’re so glad you’re here! Our goal is to make your stay comfortable, relaxing, and easy. Please take a moment to review a few important house guidelines to help us keep the home in great condition for you and future guests.


Parking & Entry

* Please park in front of the gate
* The deck is the main entrance to the home

Bathroom Care

* Please turn on the bathroom fan while showering and leave it on for about 20–30 minutes after
This helps prevent moisture buildup and keeps everything fresh.

Shoes Off, Please

* We kindly ask that you remove your shoes upon entering the home
All flooring is new, and this helps keep everything clean and in great condition.


Pet Guidelines

We love your furry companions—just a few important rules:

* No pets on beds or furniture
* Pets must be kenneled/crated when you are not with them
* The yard is fenced, but not fully secure
* There is a spot behind the shed and near the gate by the deck where dogs may slip through
* Please clean up after your pets

Trash

* All trash can be placed in the silver trash can on the side of the house
* Extra trash bags are located in the drawer next to the kitchen trash can


Heating & Cooling

* There are two AC units for cooling make sure they are on the snowflake setting if you are not getting cold air please look at the manual in the kitchen drawer by the door. Please keep black out curtains pulled and do not try to open the large window in the living room. Keeping doors and windows closed will go a long ways on hot days.



Extra Supplies & Laundry

* You’ll find extra towels, blankets, fans, and toiletries in the closets
* There is no laundry on-site, but we’re happy to help:

* If you’d like towels washed during your stay, please place them in a bag (bags are in the drawer to the right of the trash can)
* We’ll return them to you clean and folded


Ongoing Improvements

* The home is currently being renovated, new windows were just installed and before Aug central air will be installed. There are currently two AC Units to cool the home and fans in both of the bedroom closets.

* Upcoming projects include exterior painting and basement work (weather dependent)
* If we are ever working during your stay, we will never enter or disturb your space

The host communications were great. The property was clean and well maintained. Easy I90 access. Close to J.R.'s Rhodehouse BBQ Pit, my favorite bbq in South Dakota.

It was clean, comfortable, and easy to access local attractions. Jessi was on top of everything! She had lights on and everything ready for us. Her communications was wonderful! I highly recommend this property!

Arrived to a split level home that did not have street number on mailbox and had been pried off the house. No keypad at door as directed, fenced in back yard. Called host and left message and she returned call within a few minutes. She confirmed we were at the right place and that they were working on the house/ soon to be sided, which is why number removed. Keypad was at upstairs deck in BACK yard. I was wound a little tight at this point - not sure I had the right house, not a lovely home at first glance, nervous that I might be in someone’s space, dog barking (next yard) so I breathed a sigh of relief when we entered the very nice kitchen. Inside of home just as nice as pics. Weird thing is that access to front door is padlocked behind another door. First floor of this home obviously used for something or someone else. Made me a little uncomfortable not knowing but we never saw or heard anyone else. Very clean, comfortable beds. Bathroom fan sounds like a jet taking off but GREAT water pressure. Coffee maker was a mystery… drip coffee with an instant pour feature that we just couldn’t figure out. A book with explanations for the few oddities mentioned and suggestions for local eateries, etc. would be nice. Nice decor, pretty space,

Hey Kate- after our call - 3 minutes is how long it took me to call you back- I assumed you didn’t read the listing description nor the house manual- it’s listed how to get in where to park and that up the deck is the entrance - if you read the manual it talks about the home being renovated and Google maps works for the location. You were at the right home if you read the instructions you would know the back door was the entrance. The bathroom fan does fan the bathroom and that’s to ensure no moisture is staying in the bathroom. The basement is under construction and again if you read the description or house manual you would know no one lives down there and to make guests feel more comfortable it’s padlocked from the guest side. Hopefully you read the next place you stay at bc every issue you had didn’t need to be an issue. I followed up with you twice and neither time did you state any issues, in the future please communicate so you don’t leave upset . In the house manual there are recommendations to food drink ect.
