Our stay was absolutely amazing!
The property was perfect for 3 families consisting of 5 adults and 2 children (2&9). The paved roads to the house and gated entrance made coming and going a breeze.
Jerome was very responsive and checked in to make sure everything was ok when the power went out. (Which was only for a very short period of time).
The welcome book helped us decide on booking a catamaran and snorkel adventure and made booking quick and easy!
Highly recommend staying here!
Great property, unfortunately manager is dishonest.
Beautiful, clean home with excellent pool and view but can not recommend. We booked this place last minute for 3 adults for a working vacation when our other booking fell through. No complaints until we checked out and the manger suggests we owe for damages for breaking the refrigerator drawer. With only three adults staying at the property I can be 99% sure we did not do this; however, I reluctantly consent to his charge. Next day Gregoire charges me 3x what he first suggested without any authorization and only a rude response. It's extremely disappointing and frustrating to deal with this petty fraud especially considering the total amount of money we spent for our stay. I wish I could recommend this place but unfortunately can not. Perhaps if the owner employs a new manager then it would be worth a stay.

We are awfully sorry that you felt that way. We tried to explain the situation to you patiently, certainly not in a rude way. You decided to involve the VRBO platform who ultimately closed the case and allowed us to proceed with the $147 charge based on the exchanges we had with you, and the pictures and invoices we provided.
We have absolutely no interest in charging our guests with damage fees if we were not totally sure that this was caused by you. Our professional cleaning staff noticed the damage after your departure. We immediately informed you. This might not be something you realised that you had done as you may have broken the lower fridge drawer without even noticing it.
But this is a normal procedure, not our manager’s fault and certainly not a petty fraud as you mentioned. Our management team has been the same for the last 4 years, we have 9 different villas listed with VRBO and never had any accusation of the sort in the past.
As far as the price is concerned, we probably made a mistake by telling you right away that the price would be about $50. Since there is no manufacture of refrigerators in Costa Rica (or washing machines or any domestic appliances for that matter), the broken drawer needed to be imported from Mexico, resulting in additional fees such as importation fees and taxes that we didn’t include in our original estimation of the damage.
We sincerely regret that this has altered your otherwise perfect experience at our villa.
We’ve stayed in Uvita multiple times and we have always loved the area, the people, and activities, but we’ve had mixed experiences.
The listing was great but we were awe struck by this home, the living/kitchen area, the pool, everything… the master is large and beautifully done. The house is sealed tight and hardly allowed bugs into the house. The manager was responsive and helpful.
We came with kids but look forward to coming back for an adult trip.
