It is about 10 km northeast of Pula and has about 6,000 inhabitants. Vodnjan is known for its many churches and palaces that date back to the Venetian rule. The Brioni Islands are a group of islands off the coast of Istria. They consist of 14 islands, the largest of which is Veliki Brijun. A popular tourist destination, the Brioni Islands are known for their beautiful beaches, lush vegetation and many historical sites.
