About this property
neue, gemütliche Fewo mit Terrasse und Bergblick inmitten der Ammergauer Alpen
Welcome to idyllic Unterammergau.
This holiday apartment in the middle of the Ammergau Alps was completed in June 2024.
Unterammergau is the insider tip for outdoor fans and pleasure lovers who prefer a quiet and relaxing holiday apartment in the Alps.
In the immediate vicinity of our holiday apartment there are numerous hiking trails for every requirement, well-signposted cycle paths, cultural sights such as Ettal Monastery or Linderhof Castle and much more for you to discover. The surrounding nature is as beautiful as Unterammergau itself.
The new holiday apartment will round off your holiday positively. From the apartment and the surrounding terrace you have an unforgettable mountain view, including the Kolbensattel.
The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, a cozy living room, a cozy kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. In the winter months, a soapstone fireplace provides cozy warmth (installed 08/24).
"The town of Unterammergau was first mentioned in 1280 as “Nidernambergewe” and until 1803 belonged to the Hofmark Oberammergau, which was part of the Murnau court of the Ettal monastery. The town achieved ecclesiastical independence from Oberammergau in 1809.
In 1818, as part of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria, today's political community was created and initially belonged to the Schongau regional court.
Two large local fires destroyed many of Unterammergau's old houses in 1777 and 1836. After the fire of 1836, the Hinterdorf was rebuilt using a uniform design and is a listed building as an ensemble.
Our house was completed in 2007.
In addition to agriculture and the timber industry, whetstone making was an important source of income from the 15th to the middle of the 20th century. It was mainly carried out as a secondary activity in the winter months when agriculture was at a standstill.
The main town is located in the Ammertal on the Ammer River at an altitude of 836 m above sea level. NHN.
There are three parts of the municipality (the settlement type is indicated in brackets):
Kappel to the right of the Ammer (desert)
Scherenau to the left of the Ammer (hamlet)
Unterammergau (parish village)
Unterammergau itself essentially consists of three parts:
the Oberdorf, oldest part of the village around the parish church of St. Nicholas
the Hinterdorf, a listed ensemble north of Pürschlingstrasse
On the right of the bunting.
Neighboring communities of Unterammergau are Saulgrub in the north and west, Oberammergau in the south and east and Bad Kohlgrub in the northeast.
The municipality has an area of 29.90 km² and 1,589 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2022), i.e. 53 inhabitants per km². Together with the municipality of Ettal, it forms the Unterammergau administrative community.
In addition to the Ammertal, the municipal area also includes the surrounding mountains. The highest elevations are the Teufelstättkopf and the neighboring Laubeneck, both with a height of 1758 m. A forest road leads up to Unterammergau's local mountain, the Pürschling (1566 m).
The streams that flow down from the mountains into the Ammer include the Früllbach, the Schleifmühlenlaine and the Scherenauer Laine on the left of the Ammer and the Enge Laine, the Kappellaine and the Waldlaine on the right of the Ammer.
Unterammergau is located in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park." Quote from Wikipedia
