altitude543 - the Schwarzbach Lounge on the High Fens

Your holiday home, Altitude 543, is located on the edge of the High Fens. The name says it all—the house sits at 543 metres above sea level. Imagine stepping into a place of peace and serenity. Nothing distracts you from relaxation and your own thoughts; nothing obstructs the view. A place for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. An ideal starting point for numerous beautiful hikes and bike rides along the nearby Vennbahn Bike Path. Discover towns with a rustic charm.
The Accommodation
Comfortably furnished for up to 4 people (children ages 12 and up) spread across multiple levels, your holiday home features two bedrooms, a high-quality, well-equipped high-gloss kitchen with 4 gas burners and an adjoining dining area, as well as a living room with a reading chair and a fireplace for cosy evenings. We provide firewood (15€/basket). Underfloor heating throughout the house ensures consistent warmth and a pleasant indoor climate.

Nothing is as relaxing as letting your mind wander and savouring a moment of peace—for example, with a cup of tea or coffee, brewed by hand...

Upon arrival, your beds will of course be made. Hand towels, bath towels, dressing gowns, and a hair dryer will be waiting for you.
In winter, set out from the house on skis or snowshoes into the forest and ski right back to the front door in the evening.
Afterwards, relax in the warmth of our natural, wood-fired outdoor sauna (€36). A truly special experience. Please let us know one day in advance if you’d like to use the sauna.
The double beds (200x200) consist of two single beds and can be set up separately upon request. Please let us know before arrival.
Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The bathroom on the ground floor features a corner bathtub in addition to a rain shower. There is also a guest bathroom on the ground floor.

Guest Access
Our guests have exclusive use of the holiday home, including the garden and lawn. Please don’t be surprised if you occasionally get a visit from some of our animal friends. Even our proud cockerel and his little flock of chickens will be happy to welcome you. But only in the garden!

Additional Important Information
Especially in today’s fast-paced world, we want to offer you the opportunity to escape the pressures of the digital world. This has led us to deliberately forgo installing Wi-Fi (which isn’t fast here in town anyway) and a TV.
Embrace this peaceful experience, and your stay at altitude 543 will be an unforgettable and relaxing one.
However, for those who rely on Wi-Fi, we’re happy to provide it, though we’d like to point out that we don’t have a stable internet connection here in our small town.
Our holiday home is a smoke-free property.
We ask that you do not enter our holiday home with outdoor shoes and expect you to treat the furnishings, furniture, and hardwood floors with respect.
We also sort our trash—into glass, paper, recycling, and general waste.
A compost pile is available for green waste.
...and if you have laundry that needs to be washed, we offer our private laundry service.

In neighbouring Kalterherberg, on the German side, you’ll find the Moss Bakery and the Stolle Fresh Market, where you can shop to your heart’s content and even sample some wine. In Sourbrodt, right here in Belgium, a visit to the Schneider Butcher Shop is definitely worth your while.
