We loved staying here! This was the most well equipped house we’ve ever stayed in. We had everything we could need and more. It was great to stay in one of the historic homes of Galena. Would highly recommend.
As always, this house was a great stay for my annual trip to Galena with my sisters. Its always clean and well maintained, with good communuction
regarding details needed. We also love tge convenient location.
We had a great few days staying in Galena. Was easy to walk into town and back which was great both during the day and for dinner.
Very well equipped house for those who prefer to stay in and cook.
Recommended!
Very accurately described - cozy cottage walking distance to downtown Galena - owners were very communicative and house was clean and well maintained. Would be nice to have some more patio furniture, firepit type things as there's a spacious yard -
My sister and I love weekend trips in Galena and have stayed at this cottage multiple times. The owners are always available to answer any questions and the cottage is always welcoming.

Older Quaint cottage. Well Maintained. Close to downtown.
Excellent stay. Weather cut it short, but would absolutely stay again. Great rental!
Perfect for my family of 4-5 adults. In town for a family wedding. Hills did make walking downtown impossible. No Ubers, hard to find transportation downtown be prepared to drive. But the hills, narrow, winding streets are what make Galena charming.
Nice outdoor space. Kitchen perfect as I had to prep a wedding cake.
First time in Galena and we didn't realize all the hills for this location. If you are willing to drive then this is the place for you. If you plan on walking, you will get your workout in for sure!

Great home, great location
This little home is a perfect base for exploring the area. The home is in a quiet neighborhood but easily (with hills) walkable to the downtown area.
The kitchen is well stocked and spacious and the two bathrooms were convenient for multiple adults. The large living/dining room area is great for spreading out, relaxing and playing games. The beds are comfy and the A/C in each bedroom made for a great night sleep. We had 2 couples but there was easily room for another couple or some kids.
We would stay here again!

Sister Retreat
My 3 sisters and I spent 3 days in this lovely cottage in Galena, Il in early September. We found it to be very comfortable with each of us having our own bed and the extra bathroom was a bonus. The location to downtown Galena was ideal for shopping and exploring the city and it was also a short 20 minute drive to Dubuque, IA where we went on the riverboat cruise down the Mississippi. Our host was even came to the house to show us how the streamlining television programs worked. The well equipped kitchen provided us with everything we needed for making meals at the house. We enjoyed our stay at this rental home.

I had to cancel my stay
I had to cancel my stay at the last moment due to one of my group being hospitalized with a heart condition. It was the day before our date so I was not issued a refund or credit but I do not fault the owner. The cancelation policy was clear.

Well equipped charming house with very comfortable beds!
Our family stayed in Galena for a ski race so we didn’t get to hang out in the house as much as we would’ve wanted.
The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. There is plenty of room in the kitchen and around the dining room table for 6 people.
The beds are very comfortable. The mattresses must be high quality and VERY COMFORTABLE. It was hard to get up on race morning in such a comfortable bed.
The two bathrooms worked well for our family in the hustle of the morning. We also appreciated that this was a dog friendly home. Well worth the dog cleaning fee so we didn’t have to kennel our 2 dogs for the weekend.
Beautiful and convenient location in the heart of Galena. Nice yard for the dogs and easy parking. Friendly and easy to work with owners who reply quickly.

Don't judge a book...
My friends & I (three couples) rented out the house for the weekend for skiing and to enjoy some Galena nightlife. I had seen pictures online of the interior and thought it quaint. When we pulled up and saw the exterior of the house, I was nervous of what was waiting. Not that anything was wrong with it, I just was less than impressed.
Inside however, the place was warm and cozy and very clean. There were lots of fun trinkets and some lighthearted, fun, eclectic decor that we enjoyed taking pictures with. The beds were comfortable, the two full baths were very convenient and the kitchen was well equipped. I was especially impressed with the hot water heater that had no trouble keeping up with the six of us. There were working TV's in all bedrooms and the living room, free WiFi, comfortable furniture, and a stereo system which we got lots of use out of.
Very short drive to town and to nearby parks and activities. We enjoyed burgers at Durty Gurts, pizza at Procento's, saw some great blues at Miss Kitty's Grape Escape, sang karaoke at Gobbies, and had some tasty beers at Galena Brewing Company. And of course did some skiing at Chestnut.
I would definitely recommend the house to anyone looking for an inexpensive, clean comfortable, and convenient spot for a small group to stay at.
Enjoyed our time in Galena! Had to drive everywhere, since I had an elderly person with me who could not have walked the hills. A little tricky for her to get down the stairs to the front door of the house but the sturdy railing helped. The main floor bedroom and bathrooms were great for her. No bathrooms on the second floor, but that was OK for those of us who slept up there. Was glad there were two bathrooms. I really liked having no house chores to do the morning we left. Only had to put the key in the lock box. The house gave us a lovely opportunity to visit, make meals and relax.
