The Sea Biscuit Cottage is a renovated beach/fishing bungalow built in the early 1940's. Originally located on the corner of South Anchor and Station Street, this little gem was salvaged from the progress of the island and relocated onto the property of the main house, The Sea Bean at 509 South Station. Once planted, The Sea Biscuit was creatively renovated and given new life. Sea Biscuit Cottage sustained significant damage from Hurricane Harvey in August of 2017, this prompted a major renovation and allowed for some modern amenities and upgrades to be added while still keeping what could be salvage of the old cottage we love. The renovation was complete in 2019.
The property features a wonderful fenced yard, gas grill, outdoor dining set, outdoor shower facility and private parking for 2 vehicles.
As a guest on our property, you will not be disturbed. Interaction with owner/manager is on an as needed basis.
Staying at The Sea Biscuit gives you the freedom of space and convenience. The neighborhood is a mix of island locals and rental units. You can expect a quiet, family friendly stay with convenient access to shopping, dining, entertainment and the beach. Short, 2 block walk to grocery store, local restaurants and beach shops.
We love our pets and travel with them often, so we happily welcome your well behaved dogs and ask that you use general pet owner manners and monitor any excessive barking and remove all pet waste from the yard prior to your departure. Please note that there is a 4 dog limit and a pet fee applies. This is a NON SMOKING cottage. Smoking is permitted outside only. Port Aransas City Noise Ordinance is enforced. Parking is permitted in parking area only and any vehicle parked blocking the ally way will be towed at owners expense.

About the host

The voice of the sea speaks to my soul! Almost 11 years ago, my husband, youngest daughter and I, set out traveling the Texas coastline in search of the perfect retreat. We found Port Aransas and fell in love! With caution to the wind, we left the fast paced city life of Houston and settled here in 'Old Town' Port Aransas. We busy our free time with fabulous fishing, shell hunting, bird watching and lazy beach lounging. Over the years, our family vacations have always involved water and sand...we are so happy to be living our holiday on a daily basis.
Along with our vacation rental, we are also self-employed...the creative side of me loves color, decor and gardening. I get my fix via my ladies boutiques that I own here on the island...Saltwater Gypsies and Tippy Toes. My husband is a technology guru and thrives on it...he owns and manages an electronic security company in The Woodlands, TX and also here on the island. We've been married 33 years and have 3 kids...Our oldest daughter is a recent graduate of SCAD and is pursuing her freelance illustration career in Houston, TX (see some of her work in the cottage)...We have a son who has recently served in the USAF, stationed in CO (with his girlfriend and our two totally scrumptious grandsons)...and we have our youngest daughter that is entering her junior year at St Edwards University in Austin, TX.

Why they chose this property
My husband and I enjoy good food and laid back entertainment. There are some wonderful venues on this little island. You have access to the freshest seafood, diamond-in-the-rough dining experiences, music and entertainment attractions, boutique shopping and our quaint little beach bungalow, right in the heart of Port A.
